First topic message reminder :

Welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat. The pub has ventured to Georgia, because rugbydreamer wants the Scarlets to find a nice forward out there.

The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the pictures of birthday boy Hughie, Chris Budgen, Leo Cullen, Brian O'Driscoll, Paddy Wallace, Tomas O'Leary and a red faced Ronan O'Gara on the wall.

Ale cuppa coffee mug guinness cider RedWine

Cross Keys are up for it anyway. Classic Gwent rugby 3-0

Cancel that, their winger has scored 8-0 with convo to come.

I thought the ref did fairly well.

It's a pity in rugby that after nearly every game it's an analysis of a refs performance that dominates rather than the teams.
Getting too much like soccer unfortunately.

Or the rules are too complicated?

No! Just an acknowledgement that refs are human beings. In that game there were no blatant omissions by the ref. there were no controversial decisions that I could see.
I actually thought it flowed well and there was a good scrum contest without a load of resets and penalties.

Fair enough, I didn't see it. The laws are too complicated though.

Agree with you on the laws too, think I had a similar convo with Ozzy about it on twitter the other week Smile

Second yellow against Keys. At the risk of upsetting Rava, this ref is reminding me of the ministry man in that wartime film with Maggie Smith and a pig. Uptight Scottish Presbytarian.

In the ground I don't know what the yellows or the penalty try was for. Now it's this close, I can only see a Pirates win. Apparently they're professionals, which I didn't realise. Great start by the Keys though. Leon Andrews the Keys centre playing very well.

It's funny seeing Daf Jones in the "studio" exposed to the elements though. He can't be too chuffed.

Great 2nd half by Embra.
Ale for As, Risky, FES and any other Scottish posters.

We have some elderly Embra fans in the pub here in Wycombe, and they wre delighted. 90% of the Wasps fans wanted Embra to do it ad well.

thumbsup

Rava - I'm not witch hunting the ref in our game; others have already done that here in Wyconbe. There were knock ons missed from both teams, plus blocks, but whether these were as clear cut on TV as they were in the ground I don't know.

Also TV may not have shown Elliot Daly being clothes lined off the ball, then subsequently punched. He and Joe Launchbury were incensed at the final whistle. I don't like to see that sort of reaction from players, but they wouldn't do it without reason.

That's not a tradition I've ever had any time for. Blydi yanks and the pervasive homogenous culture. Halloween and Christmas are bad enough, without them spoiling Easter as well.

I think I'm right in saying the Easter hunt comes from our side of the Atlantic Glas. That's not to say the yanks haven't or will not ruin everything in living memory. I hope you're warming up you Ulster beanie for later!

Maryfield girls definetly rock Gibbo. I was once courting a Scottish lass in my uni course a few years ago. Then I made the mistake of telling her a joke and a Scottish boy and girl. Went downhill very quickly. They don't half hold a grudge.
