First topic message reminder :
Talofa*, afio mai** to the Leileifiafiafale*** - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat. The pub has ventured to Samoa because Biltongbek fancied cocktails on the beach.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the pictures of the recently retired Lloyd Burns and Peter Short; Richardt Strauss and Stephen Jones or the posters for "Stamp Out Racism" featuring Pat Lam and "Justice 4 John Afoa".

DREAMER - great stuff. You'll never have that "Road not taken" feeling
I'll be with my parents and nephew, so it will be Dandelion and Burdock at Rossi's. Knowing us, cutting it fine will be an understatement.

Dreamer, it's a taxi ride anyway. Perhaps they run buses near by? There's a park and ride right by the stadium, so maybe you could get on one of those buses?

DREAMER - bus from High Street (1 min walk from train station)
18-05, 18:08, 18:10 ...etc
8 to 10 mins on the bus and then a 5 minute walk at the other end (Either Neath Road or Landore P&R)
GLAS - you cut it so fine, you'd be 20 on the Stimpmeter

Afternoon you lot. I hope you're all fantastic and had cracking weekends.
I had one of my better weekends in a while. Got to spend a lovely trip down to Wiltshire with a a couple I'm very fond of. Then it was just a cracking night full of fun and extravagance and most importantly friends.

Great to hear that you had such a lovely weekend Munsty.
Fabrice Muamba!
The most amazing medical story I have ever come across. What was going on on that pitch was what I spent a significant proportion of my working life doing and I remain astounded every time I think of it.
Everyone should learn how to do proper, efficient CPR.
It's great that we have defibs in the community but what kept Muamba alive was fantastically good CPR.
Just astounishingly amazing!

I know the basics of First Aid and CPR (had to learn it due to my sister's condition) so if you're ever in Ravenhill MrsP and Paddy Wallace collapses will you run onto the pitch to help? I thought the doctor showed both great response time and amazing composure to help out like he did/

It is phenomenal. Back in 2004 one of my cricket team-mates (he was 37 and his 7 year old son was watching us play) had a heart attack on the sidelines (his last words were "Pete, help" ). Our wicket-keeper and the opposition captain were both first-aid trained civil defence volunteers and they managed to keep Jonno alive for just under 10 minutes with CPR, unfortunately the ambulance with defibs took 15 to arrive. At the time one of my flatmates was (and still is) an ambulance driver, he commented that the rule of thumb for them was they had a chance with defibs if they could get there inside 5 minutes.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Beach Leileifiafiafale, Samoa
Thomond, the docs who cover Ravenhill are excellent but I wouldn't hesitate even if it was Dylan Hartley!
Kiwi,
I really depends on the cause of the problem. In the case of Muamba the problem was almost certainly a primary rhythm disorder in an otherwise extremely healthy heart. Your friend, and the vast majority of collapses you will come across, were probably a rhythm disturbance that was a consequence of a heart that was starved of blood.
Good CPR will not save everyone but it will give some a chance.

Anybody else think that Ulster should put out their strongest team possible against Leinster?
Reasons:
1 a win would be psychologically huge if they are to face them in the ERC final
2 Edinburgh got smashed, if Ulster seconds do as well Leinster will be unstoppable in Twickenham
3 Playing is the best preparation for a big match
4 players get injured in training anyhow
5 need to get momentum going
6 nobody expects it - ballsy move.
I said it in here yesterday and I can assure you I’m not fishing for complements for my team but I can’t see us beating Clermont next week.
I might even nip out and put a fiver on Ulster for the cup, they’d have a much better chance against Clermont in Twix than we do in Bordeaux…
That's 3 or 4 Leinster posting stalwarts, who are writing us down. I'm going to need a strong word with ye lot before the game. I hope its not that old Munster pretend, self-defeating diatribe- coming out here. "Aah sure we are only givin it a lash and we'll see how we do on the day " attitude. Bollox to that. We have come too far and we are stronger in depth and quality now, than we have ever been in our history.
This kind of attitude is NOT acceptable. Not at my province. We will beat ASM and we will beat them well. We are the best team in Europe by far. If we go up a gear - we will beat them. If we up it to top gear - they have little hope. They must be sheeting themselves. The only side in Europe who can beat a full Leinster side, at full throttle... are Leinster themselves.
ASM are going down and so will whoever we meet in the Final. I mean that. Its time to stop being nice here. Time to be open and honest. Time to firmly nail your colours to the provincial mast.
BELIEVE.
Good aft regs. Had a nice long bike ride. Feeel goooood.

Would love to say ta ta to Shane (it's officially his last game for the O's) but I just don't finish work in time to make the train to Swansea. Looking forward to a home semi final instead (I hope).
Good luck for the future Dreamer.

Oh dear.
It is just great to hear you so happy my friend. Everything else, is just smaltz. Or a bonus. Stay happy and surround yourself with the people who make it so.
Just impress yourself first. No one else. The rest will follow. Took me years to learn that one.
MrsP. We will HAMMER Ulster(if they make it) - at Twickers. But I'll be nice before & afterwards roysh?
Just bring the crisps.
Ebullient? Moi? Feicin right I am.
Of course this could all lead to HC tears for the aul man... but I have to put it on the line. Or the resultant gain, won't outway the previous pain. If that makes any sense atall atall.
I have to believe before the event and not after it. I think it's called being a fan.

The best thing about your trip to Twickenham is that you won't even need to buy a new jersey to support the winning team!
Sure your "Gibson" RFC shirt is almost the same as the Ulster one!

That's true and if and when it happens... I will wear it. And proudly too.
I will always remember how supportive my Ulster friends were to us on the way. I'll never forget it.
One journey. Disparate Tribes as One. Is that not what it's all about in the end?
That goes for our English, Scottish, Irish and Welsh regs. Whoever makes it, in whatever comp. We are there for them

That's good Gibbo.
I seem to remember certain fans being in serious need of this at a previous HEC Final and that was when his team were winning!
Howyou he will cope with losing is anyone's guess!

After dissing our brew recently and now indicating her intended presence, should The Auld Wee Wumman frae Perthshire not be encouraged to provide a dram or two of the peaty tasting Laphroaig she so eloquently described.

As, did you get anywhere with my email suggestion?
Also, my mate Andy is going to be there and our spare ticket is earmarked for linebreaker if he makes it over - kiwi if lb can't make it.
