Talofa*, afio mai** to the Leileifiafiafale*** - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat. The pub has ventured to Samoa because Biltongbek fancied cocktails on the beach.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the pictures of the recently retired Lloyd Burns and Peter Short; Richardt Strauss and Stephen Jones or the posters for "Stamp Out Racism" featuring Pat Lam and "Justice 4 John Afoa".

John Afoa deserved a ban, he got a week too much but it was deserved.

Try telling that to the Ulster fans, I think someone suggested Wales bribed the IRB in the Warburton case. Ridiculous.

Most Ulster fans seem to agree with you Thomond from the looks of things, the problem I have with it all is tip tackling in general. I think the dangers attributed to a tip tackle are vastly exaggerated. As I said on the other thread, I don't want to come across as a grumpy Ulster fan who is struggling to come to terms with the ban, but rather I am a little tired of these tip tackle bans.

Nope not at all Biltong, tis just something extra I've taken on myself. But, probs handing in my notice v soon, so just glad I've finally got a new qualification from my job (to be fair, I've had it on my cv for the last two months, just glad I've got an official certificate for it now )

Kiwi, that sounds rather scrumptuous, so I'll have a big portion of that, is there some home baked bread with that meal. If there is I'd like some please.
RD, good on you, if the qualification doesn't bare fruit now, it could still help you in your future career.
Ah, to be young again.

Talking about rum, I have always had this desire to go to Jamaica to experience the culture there. A mate of mine played cricket for the Titans quite a few years back and they had west indian in their team, if I recall correctly it was sylvester Clarke, and he told me about the laid back attitude they had in life.
So I would love to go there and spend a night homeless in the streets with some rum, some green stuff and listen to their philosophy of life.

Biltong, if you can tear your eyes off Keira do you mind having a quick glance at my SuperXV weekly preview. I still need to write an intro and still waiting on team sheets for the Cheetahs and Chiefs, but the rest is about sorted.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Beach Leileifiafiafale, Samoa
Never been in this establishment before but felt I had to share the hilarious radio for Newbridge Crystal currently being aired on Newstalk. Those of you not lucky enough to be Irish mightn't be aware that ROG is what's known as a "brand ambassador" for Newbridge and there's a billboard ad they use of ROG looking verybrooding with his silver Newbridge cufflinks on display. Pic is on black and white probably because of ROG's ultra-rosy red cheeks!
Seems Newbridge have a style museum where they have displays of gear worn by famous people like hollywood actresses. The punchline for the latest radio ad is on the lines of "Grace Kelly, Audrey Hepburn and Ronan O'Gara - style icons". Wonder what poor old Gracie and Audrey think about that!

Thomond, at least ROG doesn't speak in the ad. Have you seen the ad for some drink that Cian Healy does for some health drink - he only says one word (the name of the feckin drink whose name I can't remember) and even then almost makes a bollix of it. Don't think they taught him any thespian skills in his years in Belvo

Berocca ad is it? Not great, those O2 adverts with Irish playyers are decent enough though.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Beach Leileifiafiafale, Samoa
I think Afoa definitely deserved a ban, just disappointed that some mitigating factors weren't taken into account. It's very harsh for a guy who's never had a yellow or red card in his career. I didn't think it was a mid range offence. That said, I didn't expect him to be available once I saw the replays. I know it's a 'hot button' issue.
I don't like this bar poster tbh, I don't like this kind of shoite coming from Ulster fans. We'd want to just get on with it without whinging. These things happen.

Notch, shoite happens, Munster lost Barry Murphy and John Kelly and Rob Henderson for their first semi final against Leinster. Leinster lost Felipe, a semi is a time for different guys to stand up. Everyone will be focusing on the main guys and others have to step up to the plate. SUFTUM and get to Twickenham.

I think MrsP suggested it more in jest than anything.
Anyway, for anyone in need of a laugh, here are the top five worst goal attempts in Australian rugby league. Some real shockers in there.

Rugby League kicking is pretty poor overall so it's not incredibly surprising.

It's not poor but not up to the same standard. Maybe to do with the slightly different shape of the ball or that kicking isn't as important.
Still though, even knowing it is not of the same standard, those are some shocking efforts.

There has just been a massive bang somewhere around here. The MOD are investigating and it's in Oxfordshire apparently, but even I heard the bugger 10 miles out of Swindon. Was mega loud. I guess it's nothing bad.

Miss two games of rugby I was looking forward to because I messed my leave up (Dragons tomorrow and the Swalec Cup semi on Saturday). Silly me. Though at least I am off for Ospreys v Dragons

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Beach Leileifiafiafale, Samoa
We had about 6 native Jamaicans in our team, so when we were in Kingston we never stayed in our hotel, they took us to this little backroad shack that was a bar where you just sat out under the stars. We had rum, red stripe and plenty of philosophy.
They were so hospitable. One night they knew we would be coming down they made a big pot of curried goat for us, the only charge for it was a swapping of stories.
It was the final destination on our tour, and on the day we left, in order to show our gratitude, most of our team gave all of our cricket equipment away to the local kids who had nothing.
Like a said, was a wonderful experience, and I learnt a lot of things about life and myself on that trip.
