Re: Homepage
I thought Sarries played well first half, Goode was coming into the line and Strettle looked dangerous. Just kind of reverted to type. Farrell just not a midfielder, adds nothing at 13.
I know your not a fan of Flood but you can see Ford has learnt a lot from him. The way he set up Tuilagi try was trademark Flood. I was reading an interview few weeks back and Flood was saying they spend a lot of time on training pitch, reckons Ford has helped with kicking from hand.

Re: Homepage
Sarries got outmuscled and I think they suffer a bit from not having any out and out stars who can win a game on their own apart from Brits - Goode had a good game, if only he was a little bit quicker though.
Ford's been doing that sort of thing since u18s England (when he was 15!) - his passing is just brilliant - a lot seems to come from the Aussie attacks coach Tigers have got themselves, is his name O'Connor or someone?

I don't see why Saracens don't start with Smit at TH let him feed the line out and use Brits in the midfield as the gain line breaker.

Marler and JJ screwed Tonga and Mujati, then did the same to Waller and PDJ.
Brilliant performance from them. Will be a huge test for Marler v Cole/Castro. JJ should be fine v Ayerza who I am struggling to rate.

Havent seen Smit play well recently, looks like he's put on a bit of weight too.
Guscott is saying that he wants to see Tuilagi/JJ partnership in midfield for England after this tour - want to watch more of JJ, have only seen him 3-4 times.
We could have an amazing backline by 2015 - just need to find some better second rows and a no7!

Struggling to rate Ayerza? He's been the best LH in the prem imo.
Waller & PDJ did alot better than Mujati/Tonga but that could be due to fatigue. PDJ & Marler was epic

Got potential coming through.
Already got Lawes who will be in for the long run. Botha is impressive as is Parling. Coming through there is Garvey whom I'm excited for along with Attwood if he ever continues his development.
Launchbury, Kruis, Matthews, Gaskell, Myall, Robson, Day etc are all players who I think could do a job given time.

Re: Homepage
I only saw the 2nd half.
First scrum after PDJ came on, Marler ruined PDJ in a big waybut then it got better for him. Mujati was doing alright but never on top. Tonga'uhia seemed to tire out badly.
I don't rate Ayerza that highly, particularly this season. He is behind Marler, Wood and Gill for sure. Perhaps others as well.

Not a fan of Botha at all - he tackles and has a high work rate, but then so should any professional rugby player. He puts his body on the line all the time but is always picking up injuries in a game, never known a player who spends so much time getting treatment in a game!
Think Kitchener is one to keep an eye on - very dynamic, powerful and quick. Seems to have done well on his set piece too.
Thing that I've noticed a lot with Saints is that their scrum suffers when Lawes isnt in the second row.

Kitchener not for me. Believes his own hype far to much. Never impressed me when I've watched him. He and Attwood two huge let downs.
I am a big Christian Day fan though. Think he is very talented.

Thought Attwood's come on at Bath a fair bit and when I've seen Kitchener get a chance he's done well for Tigers in latter half of the season - he was very good against Worcester last time out. Think both need big seasons next year and really push on.
Rugby Paper does a good article on the problems with the England no7 shirt -in that we have no one!

just seen the Reds v Chiefs game and England need to go and try and find an English grandparent for Liam Gill! The Aussies have some serious talent coming through there - do people think that the s15 produces better no7s because of the style of game over there, quick to breakdown, fast running and more emphasis on turnovers?

Mad to watch, really like S15. Loads of turnovers then slipping off tackles.
Cheers Pirates!!! Just Welsh to worry about now.

I don't think the RFU will approve Welsh coming through , poor attendence in a ground like the stoop isn't going to be a great advert for the RFU.

Re: Homepage
Guys i have a crazy crazy idea which could help solve the issues of draws and make the league a bit tighter.
First and foremost a big thing a lot of us emphasis during predictions is HOME ADVANTAGE and we tend to award the home side 2 or 3 points at the most in our prediction for it. What i purpose is we do a vote on the most intimidating places to play on the game and give these grounds extra points in predictions.
Just a thought

Think this gives an undeserved advantage though Driver.
For me a team needs to deserve their home advantage through good form and tactics etc.

Shame for the lad as playing well, not had much luck with injuries over the years. Should have 40+ caps instead of 17.

It's the same with all these physical players like kahui ferris etc. always going to pick up injuries. I have dislocated a shoulder before. Painful but pretty straight forward recovery. It's always back and neck injuries that are the killers

How does that make the league closer?? No one would win at Leicester or Gloucester.
It is a way of ending draws. Just a very unfair one.

Re: Homepage
To be fair I think the 10 point rule is the best way to go with draws in the playoffs. I didnt like the idea of picking penalties etc as I'd feel as if I was cheating one of you out of the game backing x to score, y to miss etc. With the 10 point rule its completly subjective and if two sides are that evenly matched think it is best to take the seasons record into account to split them

Re: Homepage
Draws in the regular season are no issue, only in knockout matches is it a problem. I am uncomfortable with the current resolution that has been used the last two occasions as at least two of the deciders (tries scored/conceded) are in part randomly decided.
Nominated kickers is an option, but it also leaves it open to abuse as to what 15 teams would have had on the pitch at the final whistle.
