Well there goes a nailed on silver medal ...
China will win.
Not a good start at the velodrome ...at least we know Victoria is in hot form for speed ...reckon she'll be charged up for her individual events if she wasn't before...

It seems to happen more often with this certain commissaire.
I know he was the guy that DQed loads of teams (including GB men) at the Worlds earlier this year. Besides that, no it doesn't happen that often. There's usually an element of discretion.

Ah well , when things are going well you just know something nasty has to come and burst your bubble...
My mood has been seriously darkened , though I guess rules are rules .
Hope the men can nail the pursuit ...

Rules are rules I guess. Quite annoyed though that we've missed a guaranteed medal.

Congratulations to Gabby Douglas for winning individual overall gymnastics Gold. It is rare to see a black girl winning a gymnastics medal on the biggest stage.
Wonder how the decided the bronze between Raisman (USA) and Mustafina (RUS). Both had a total score of 59.566.

So China win the women's sprint ...but that wretched commissar is at it again..
China DQ ...
This spoils the whole thing for me ...you see a great ride and a record and you then have to wait and wonder if it will stand for the next however long...hate it
Reckon they should either allow a few centimeters tolerance or get an automatic system that sounds an alarm straight away , because otherwise it spoils the event when it happens this often..

That guy is an officious t*t. Having seen the footage I thought the first rider was in front at that line anyway. Surely if there is any doubt the benefit should go to the winners.
He obviously wants to the center of attention. Well he is, and the world will be thinking what a complete c**k. Hope he enjoys his 5mins

Five Golds now for Sir Chris
Pity he isn't in the sprint , though I'm sure Kenny will do fine.
Based on this session I think GB will win a lot of medals in this velodrome , very like Beijing ...the team is obviously perfectly prepared and barring accidents and over zealous officials they will be hard to stop

Nearly forgot, that's 4 more times we've set a World Record today although I think one was broken again by China. Well done to Sir Chris Hoy who now has as many Gold medals as Sir Steve Redgrave.

Re: Olympics Day 6
Well, my doubts about the track cycling team don't seem well founded.
OK, so the women got DQ'd from the team sprint, but Pendleton showed excellent speed in her two rides.
The men though - if you think the team sprint boys were impressive, have a look at what the team pursuiters did in the time trial - knocked over half a second off the world record riding on their own (times are always quicker with another team on the track). No-one else within 4 seconds of them.

Re: Olympics Day 6
I think the BBC sum it up best about the main events this evening:
GB hockey women play Belgium (1900)
Lochte goes in 200m backstroke (1946)
GB basketball men v Spain (2000)
Lochte & Phelps in 200m IM final (2015)
Fran Halsall of GB in women's 100m free final (2031)
GB volleyball men v Italy (2200)
And the boxer Josh Taylor of GB is on at 20:30 in the last 16 against Valentino of Italy. So far, I believe Team GB has a 100% record in the boxing.
