fantastic from Hines, Kenny and Hoy gold with a WR stunning
5 gold and 1 silver for Hoy and still his best event to come in the Kieren
Kenny should be looking at silver atleast in the sprint
and well done to the canoe slalom boys a 1-2

I cant say enough just how good the support has been for the GBR team. Excellent crowds and massive support, that has to lift the athletes.

Not sure if it's been mentioned, and I appreciate what some people think of the sport, but GB are also in the the lead as a team and individually after the first day (of three) in the dressage.
Oh, and Robson/Murray just won their last 16 match in the mixed. Aussies in the quarters for them.

Seems like a great lad and in what I assume is a relatively young man's sport he is still turning it on with style. Great to see. Team GB had a nice haul today, well done lads and lassies.

Re: Olympics Day 6
I reckon we've got 4 great chances for golds tomorrow, but I won't say that's all the chances we've got because as today proved, you never know.
I see Queen Vic in the Keirin, Men's team pursuit look great and Dame Becky in the 800 and of course Granger and Watkins hopefully to dominate in the double skulls.
Outside chances I see the Men's Pair rowing (Kiwis are crazy good) but we're probably second best, Alan Campbell in the single skulls and perhaps even our guy in the Archery (Larry Godfrey) who has a punchers chance of a medal tomorrow now he's in the last 16.
Can't see many more but who knows what might happen in the Judo?
Good luck one and all.

Nah Billy, I feel like that about all the women athletes.

It was only unexpected because he wasn't hyped I think. He's actually world number 2 and they were saying he's been doing some crazy world records earlier in the year or something.
He's only 25 too, he could compete for another 25 years, haha.

There has been some negative press about London holding these Olympic's. The support and encouragement that all these atletes have recieved by the locals has been brilliant and has been more than enough to silence these nay sayers.

Agreed Billy, a few empty seats in some spots but not a big deal. Seems to have improved a fair bit over the last few days though.

I doubt Phelps will be able to resist the urge to come back, Ian Thorpe said he'd probably come back for relays which would seem possible.

I'd say close Dave. But I don't know if judgment on here would be the best place to judge. Only a few Ozzies on here and largely full of Europeans or British. We would need a neutral country or continent to judge!

I've really enjoyed the Olympics so far.
I think if Bolt (or somebody else) can do something special in the 100m then these games will be up there with the best.

We'll agree they are better than Athens (poor organisation) and Beijing (soulless).

She did scrub up well.
I think, unlike China, London and Great Britain doesn't really need to prove itself, whilst this was the first event of this magnitude that China had held. Perhaps it was the British success, but I really enjoyed the games in Beijing.
Athens I can't really remember though which is strange, but I guess it was one of those that passed by.
I do believe though that there is only a small number of countries that can pull off the games off, probably around 10 to 12 and whilst it would be nice to share it around, you don't want countries to bankrupt themselves in trying to do so.
