Two golds in a matter of minutes.
Those shooters have to have nerves of steel - Wilson was firing last in each rotation, so knew he had to keep hitting to respond to the Swede, who only missed one out of the last 50 clays.

Re: Olympics Day 6
So there I am watching the Canoeing final and I see the 2 British pairs upset the Slovakian to take Gold and Silver for GB. I then flick over to BBC1 to see Wilson fire his last shots and take Double Trap Gold for GB! 2 Golds and 1 Silver for Team GB in the space of 5 minutes. Fantastic!

It's in 15 minutes, by the way. I wouldn't want you to miss it. (I guess it'll be on live on the main channel anyway.)

Have to say, wanted Hounslow and Florence to win that if I was being picky after their individual performances. But, still what a comeback, and I don't think they will mind their teammates beating them to gold.

This is great. It'll make the fact that we're unlikely to win either of the team sprints on the track tonight despite many people thinking we will.
I reckon it'll be France/Germany battling out for gold and GB/Aus for Bronze in the mens, and GB/Aus for Gold in the womens (but with Australia taking the big G.)

Not like you to be pessimistic dj ...
You may well be right but I would never write off this current crop of GB cyclists.
Apart from these results it will give us an idea of where the sprinters are for their other events , so a very important session.

Re: Olympics Day 6
I'm not really being pessimistic. These are probably out weakest events of all 10 on the track so a predicted silver and bronze isn't a disaster - in fact I'm possibly being optimistic.
I really do hope I'm wrong though - and you know I mean that, not like a lot of people who 'hope they're wrong'. haha.

BBC stream seems sevel minutes delayed and is showing the bronze medal play-off, my 2010 app says Gemma is 1-0 down.

She didn't really ever look like throwing her very often, the American seemed too strong.

Yeah American looked a class above. Very good defensively.
Still our first Judo medal since Sydney. She can hold her head high.

Nice start for GB women ... And China !
The American lass did look a bit too strong for Gemma Gibbons but I think she'll see that as a silver won not a gold lost ...well done , and about time for a judo medal after 12 years....

Re: Olympics Day 6
Beano Does it AGAIN...!
3rd place in the second race, Denmarks Jonas Christensen 4th.
Awesome battle between the two fleet leaders.
DEN 18 points
GBR 21points
Two races left, remember that getting in to first was not critical, reducing the points between the two sailors was. Ben has reduced the difference from ten points to just 4.
I said he could do it and he did. This is why he has three golds and a silver.

Re: Olympics Day 6
I know you're saying that as a joke. But you won't see China do anything in cycling other than female power events.
Also, both the Chinese girls have been around for years and always been good, but this is a massive step up.
But chapeau I guess. We'll see what happens in the semis/final.

I really dont like to accuse people of things but these Chinese athletes are coming out of nowhere.
Given their rather cloudy history, questions are going to be asked. I really hope that they have all just improved massively.

There will be one or two in the Velodrome alright you Clare feicer. GB's panic reminds me of Ulster Rugby's Crisis a while back. I told you lot to remain calm and don't buy into the BBC stuff and your on your way now.

No that's it...
The breeze built all day here it was a great day for sailing. Team GBR have been exceptional.
Haven't caught up on the girls match racing as yet as I've been out on the water all day.

Even as a proud Cork man I think that's a feicing joke. Embarassing like.
Well don GB some feicing ride!
(no I'm not talking about Victoria Pendleton, not at the moment anyway)
