The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Games of the XXX Olympiad Pub, Stratford
First topic message reminder :
The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Games of the XXX Olympiad Pub, a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
This week the pub has set up in the heart of the Olympic Precinct at Stratford, where we can watch the world's greatest athletes do their thing and strut their stuff during the best Modern Olympics Games ever.
"Citius, Altius, Fortius" has been the motto for the modern Olympic Games since their beginning in 1896 - and let's hope it stays that way.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no tampering with the pictures of Jessica Ennis, Kieran Behan, Oscar Pistorius, Bradley Wiggins, Leryn Franco, Michelle Jenneke, Victoria Pendleton, Aaron Cruden, Katie Taylor, Misty May, Usain Bolt, Mo Farah, Krisztián Berki (on that horsey thingy) and the the Winner of the Gold Medal at Wimbledon - Andy Murray.

Gotta love the feeding stations in the 10km swim.
As Kenny says it's like feeding seals with that food in a bucket on the end of a long stick.

As i said, i am only going by what i have seen on documentaries here in Holland where they intervied former users and they said that the long term benefits were there as well as the short term benefits.
I am not and never will be an expert on them, i can only go by what i have seen and heard from ex pro's
Where is MrsP? She would solve this in a second. Are the P's still on holidays?

Billy I used to work alongside a couple of BodyBuilders (both ex mr NI) who were pretty open about steroids, flip they used to leave needles around the place.
Their size and strength went up and down like a yoyo when they were off and on. A couple of guys who I played rugby with used to use as well.
You have to keep taking them or you lose the effects over time. I'm pretty sure about that, although as a clean 'athlete' (in the loosest possible term of the word) I'm not 100%.....

You missed your chance to steal one, inject in a special place and become a real man like us Munster lads... Even if it was short term you would know how we feel every day

Steroids have the opposite effect on your dangle I thought?
Anyway Cork people are superior race Rodders, Munster people by and large. When you see fellas like Billy going around the place, you see that a lot of Munster was left behind. Langers Uber alles!
Happy Birthday CF
RD, is taking a break Bill, delighted with how team Gb are doing though, seems grand anyway

Yeah Steroids can cause gonadal atrophy and associated Winkle shrinkage and gynaecomastia. The body turns a lot of them into oestrogen, some of it becomes testosterone but the oestrogen can cause the side effects above

Winkle shrinkage?
Is that a medical term?
Sorry didn't mean to offend anyone with my views on PEDs . Just thinking out loud here. I know nothing.
Usain Bolt is a legend, best athlete I've ever seen.

Other words get changed to winkle. Should have used the adjective, penile

Don't know why it does that Billy. Happens once in a while though.
Ball, Sticks or Ribbon in the Women's gymnastics... what is everyone's favourite?
Must admit I'm impressed with their ball skills but the ribbon thingy is also a feast for the eyes too. Don't know about the sticks though - that looks the most difficult?

Fantastic effort from Paddy Barnes. Honestly, that is representing your country to the very best. If an athlete representing my country puts in his very best, then I don't care about the result, putting it all in is what I appreciate and that is what Paddy Barnes did in that.

Zou won the first round convincingly, Paddy tore into him in the 3rd, 2nd was even. I would have said it was right, hoorrible way to crash out. From 15-0 in Beijing to the same opponent, Barnes has come on a lot. Count back was 45-44, Jesus it doesn't get tighter than that!

Happy Birthday CF mate.
Hard luck Paddy. But he has improved on his last showing and that all we can ask for. His best. Well done and thanks.
Off out for pints in the Sun. Leidse Plein terraces will be buzzing now.
