Never predicted you would go down last year...but I did say you will be back in the championship where you belong next year.
And you have spent most years down there in the prem era...So you belong in the championship.
Would like you to stay...easy 6 points for United every season.
Where are you PBF? Lets be havin you!!!

How about a punt on Darren bent? Should be available fairly cheap.

You would have thought he might take a big pay cut to get some games though with the world cup coming up. Plus now a day's many clubs still pay part of ex players wages to get them out. When Middlesbrough first went down they were paying wages tp at least four players that they had moved on to prem clubs

I doubt he'd want to move to Norwich anyways being ex-Ipswich and he could play at a better team to be honest.
Also doubt Villa would sell to us, relations between the two clubs at the moment are hardly cuddly lol

Glenn Murray has been linked with Norwich, Villa and Sunderland.
He is A LOT better than CMS. But i would do anything for you to take CMS of our hands and give us money to get a striker who can score.
Unlucky yesterday, the game was a great game. Both sides deserved something from it i thought.

Big game for us is this one.
If we can get the 3 points it really gives us a good cushion and takes us withint touching distance of safety. A loss and suddenly we are sliding towards the bottom of the table.

Very good chance of a win too mate, and if you win you may convince Gary Hooper to join you. Big, big game.

One game isn't going to change a player's mind on whether he will join a club.
You aren't going to go into negotations on a Friday and say, "ooo look we have 25 points" and he'll say, "nope not joinign". Then come Monday off a win, "look we have 28 points now" and he'll just go, "yeah go on then those 3 points really swung my mind"

Re: The official "Norwich City to 40 points and Premier League safety" thread
You said yourself "A loss and suddenly we are sliding towards the bottom of the table" - why would he give up his Champions League football for that?
He clearly wants to play in the Premier League, and you're one option. But if you have a rubbish game, things look a lot bleaker for him than they do if you notch a 4-0 drubbing, with all the goals coming from the midfielders who will be supplying him.
You're basically auditioning for him, and you have to put on a good show to make him feel like he wants to become part of it all.
If I was him, I'd move this summer, after I've scored the CL winner in the 2nd leg and gotten clubs in Europe interested in me.

If I'm honest I think it is just a rumor. I can't see him moving or Celtic wanting to seel any of there best players this window. Maybe the summer but not before the CL last 16

I think it's win-win, he's their best forward, if he scores them a goal or two to get them through one round in the CL he's gotten them more through prize money than any transfer fee they'd get.

Norwich have had a bid for Gary Hooper rejected, would be a very good signing for Norwich if they can make sure they don't pay over the odds for him. A better option up top than any of their current strikers I'd say with Holt getting no where near the form of last year.

Danny Graham would be a great signing. Him and Holt upfront could be a very good partnership in this league. Gus has said CMS isn't for sale now, so good news for you lot!

I don't see the appeal in Danny Graham. Especially at £4m-£5m.

Re: The official "Norwich City to 40 points and Premier League safety" thread
I don't think it's fair to say Holt is getting no where near the form of last year. We play a totally different way to last year, and its meant he has had to sacrifice scoring for the team effort.
Where as last year he would get 2/3 good chances a game, now he is lucky to get 1. It's a totally different ethos under Hughton.
Start of the season he did struggle with a bit of leftovers from the summer in weight.

Hooper scores more in a much lower quality division.
I'd be happy with either, in fact I'd be happy with anybody! Hooper I can't see happening this window, although he has stated his desire to play Prem football and to get England calling him up, and that ain't gonna happen with him still at Celtic.
But they would both add a much needed boost up front

He's scored 7 goals this season in 19 games. Scored 14 in 39 games last season. Don't really see the DID score goals, he scores goals

His goals this season:
vs West Ham in the PL - a meaningless 3rd goal
vs Barnsley in the CO Cup
vs Crawley in the CO Cup
vs Fulham in the PL - the opener
vs Villa in the PL - last minute equaliser
vs Arsenal in the FA Cup - the late equaliser
vs Chelsea in the CO Cup - a break away last minute goal
3 in 15 games in the PL, 3 in the tin pot cup including two against lower league opposition and one tap in, and 1 in the FA Cup. Hardly what you guys need going forward, especially at £5m.

Well discount half of RVP's goals then because some of them have come in cups and when Utd have been winning comfortably. Pointless argument, he's scored 7 goals in 19 games this season

3 in 15 in the PL, which is where he'll be playing. At that rate, with 16 games left, you're paying £1.5m each for three goals. Not worth it.
As for RVP, he scores against everyone, at all times. That goal against West Ham was as valuable as Graham's vs Arsenal, but 100x as good. Admittedly it doesn't matter how you score them, but if you need goals, RVP is always there. Graham isn't the guy you want. Get Hooper. Or Milan Baros.

Consider he's been coming on for little cameos in those 15 games.
I think given a run in the team he could score 10-15 goals in a season as he showed last season. But we'll just have to agree to disagree

Olly - those last dozen or so points look like they're not going to come easy but you always knew that!
Saw your comment on the other thread that you made Liverpool seem better than they were. Just based on the MOTD highlights, I thought Liverpool's passing was good - an excellently weighted pass from Downing (a player I've normally little time for) to set up Sturridge's goal.
Spurs next up at home on Wednesday week. Don't suppose there's any chance of Ruddy being back for that? Feel you really need him now.

Hey Guildford you're gonna get games like that and runs like this when you don't play well and results don't go your way! It's how we bounce back over the coming games is what is important!
Ruddy should be back March time! Fair play to Liverpool they were good, but we let Gerrard run the show. Gave him way too much time to pick passes, and he tore us to shreds!
Luton in the cup and then Spurs in the league. Hopefully a few players coming in, even if they don't this bunch is good enough to keep us up!

Liverpool played class on saturday, possibly the best I have seen them play all season, they well deserved the win.
as for us, defence was all over the place without bassong in there, Howson looked a little lost, Holt really really needs some help up top and a little more service. My Suggestion to sort all this

One thing you missed against Liverpool was any sort of pressure on the opponents. Liverpool with time on the ball = dangerous, Liverpool under pressure = vulnerable. It's something I've come to expect from you guys and I was pretty shocked to see on those 5 goals just how slack the closing down was.

According to Moose of Talkshite Holt could be going to Celtic as part of the Hooper deal.
I sincerely hope not. If we do it will be the biggest mistake this club has amde. Send em one of the crap strikers not the only half decent one and our captain!!

The Moose has less brains than an actual Moose, so ignore whatever nonsense that fat waste of space spouts. Adrian Durham is only slightly less of a burk.

Yeah eh did tweet in the summer that Holt had completed a medical at West Ham and was going to sign on that very day for them
The Hooper deal seems to have legs in it though.
