Waiting List

2. Bathite

Welcome to Season 5 of the Aviva Premiership fantasty rugby game. Below are the rules of the game which must be adhered to. If there are any situations that arise in the course of the game which are not covered by the rules, a final decision will be made by the RFU (Ozzy3213) as to how the situation will be resolved.

Senior Squads wrote:
The maximum squad size is 40 senior players. If a team has more than 40 players in their squad then they will be fined £1 million per player over the permitted amounts per day for the first seven days. If after 7 consecutive days a team still has more than the permitted number of players then the team will be fined £2 million per player per day, and fined 1 league point per player per day for the next seven days. If after this time a team still has more than the permitted number of players in their squad, the RFU (me) will remove players at it’s discretion to bring them back under the permitted numbers. There will be no right of appeal to players being removed.

Be aware that all tier one international matches which are played during the season will count in the game, and players selected in the matchday 22's for those matches will not be eligible to play for their clubs on that weekend, therefore you must give due consideration to the make up of your squad.

Academy Rules wrote:
Each team will be allowed to have a listed senior academy squad of 20 players. Players who are in the senior academy must be under 22 years of age as of 1st September 2012 (therefore must have been born on or after 1st Septmber 1990). Players who are under the age of 20 (so born after 1st September 1992) AND are in the academy of the club that you are managing in real life, DO NOT need to be listed as senior academy players as part of your 20, but are available to you in this game and cannot be poached by other clubs without paying you a fee.

Should a player not listed in your 20 senior academy players, but part of the clubs academy in real life move clubs in real life, then you will have first option of promoting him to your listed senior academy. If you choose not to take this option he will become property of the club that he moves to in real life in this game.

Transfers wrote:

  • Domestic (other AP Teams)
Each team has a budget to use in the purchase of players. Domestic transfers between AP clubs, regardless of nationality of player, should be negotiated between the respective managers, and then confirmed on the Domestic Transfer Confirmation Page.

  • Domestic (Championship and below)
Each team may during the season purchase no more than 3 players from the Championship or the National Leagues. These players must be bid for on the Championship/National League bidding page, and each bid will be considered by me on it's own merits before being accepted or rejected. No bid will be accepted until a minimum of 24 hours has elapsed from the time the bid was made, in order to afford other managers the opportunity to make a counter bid.

  • Foreign
To make a foreign transfer (i.e from any club outside of the AP, regardless of whether the player is English) a bid should be made on the Foreign Transfers Page, which will be considered by me against the posted guidelines for purchase prices before being accepted or rejected. No bid will be accepted until a minimum of 24 hours has elapsed from the time the bid was made, in order to afford other managers the opportunity to make a counter bid.

Foreign transfers will unlimited during the off season and 2 during the season. The exact dates of the two transfer windows during the season is to be confirmed.

Player Releases wrote:
Managers may choose to release players from their clubs, for which they will be offered compensation

Compensation will be paid as follows

£2 million – current international (must have played international rugby in the previous 12 months)
£1.5 million – former international
£1m – top flight experience
£0.5m – other

If a released player plays in real life for a team outside of this game he will be deemed to have returned to that team. If not then he will be deemed to have signed for a Championship side. If another manager wants to pick a released player up, they will have to bid for him in the same way as for a foreign or Championship/National League player.

Retirements wrote:
There will be no compensation for retiring players. Should a player who retires decide to come out of retirement and play again, then he will automatically go back to the club who he was playing for in the game when he retired.

Fixtures wrote:
There will be 22 Aviva Premiership games per season, plus the play offs. There will also be Heineken Cup, Amlin Challenge Cup and Anglo Welsh Cup matches. These games will take place once a week. A thread will be put up for managers to name their teams on Thursdays, then on Fridays, managers will post the scores that they think will happen from these games (apart from games in which they are involved). An average of all predictions will be taken, and then 0.5 points added to each teams score for each prediction that had them as the winner, and that will then be the final score.

Teams wrote:
When naming your team, not only should you put the starting XV and replacements, but also tactics that your team will employ. Results will be affected by the tactics described.

In addition, each team must have the following:-

At least 10 England qualified players in your matchday 23, and at least 5 of those must be in your starting XV.

At least 2 props and 1 hooker on the bench.

All players must be eligible (not injured or banned).

Failure to comply with these rules will result in forfeiting the match and a 1 league point deduction.

If you fail to submit a team for a match, then the other team will be automatically awarded a 30-0 bonus point win. If both teams fail to submit a team, then it will be scored as a 0-0 draw.

Injuries and Suspensions wrote:
Injuries in this game do NOT reflect real life, they will be generated by me.

Players banned in real life will be ineligible for selection in this game for the duration of the ban.

Inclusion of injured/banned players will result in them being replaced by players on the bench, and the bench not having eight players, which may result in punishment if it concerns the front-row.

Punishment for fielding an ineligible player will be loss of one match point for a first offence, two for a second offence and so on.

Financial Rewards wrote:
There will be no rewards for the result of an individual match, instead the managers will receive cash for predicting.

£1.5m for descriptive predictions
£0.25m for scores on the doors predictions
If you fail to predict without first advising me that you are unable to do so that week, you will be fined £1m for a first offence, £2m for a second offence, £3m for a third offence etc.

I love Sunday football , think my weekend would be empty without it.

Spurs let me down on my last coupon for just over £1000 against Norwich , was wounded.

We need a win tomorrow if we want to build any sort of momentum for the Manchester United games.

Happy B'day Pooly.

Can't wait for the Wasps v Gloucester game, always one of my favourites of the season - can't really remember the last low-scoring one between the two sides - with Varndell, Wade, May and JSD as the wingers on show it should continue like that!

Not sure how Simpsons try wasn't allowed earlier, but when our front row turns into a penalty machine like it did we won't win those games. Gloucester outmuscled us until Vunipola came on - impressed with AJ today but what did Morgan do all game?

Didnt rate Crane, think he's a poor mans Nick Easter - Salvi great again, Tigers lack the big match winners in those games as no one takes it by the scruff of the neck - missed Tuilagi badly.

The Boks have added Coenie, CJ van der Linde, Elton Jantjies and Jaco Taute to their squad for the last 2 rounds of the Rugby Championship.

I really don't understand Jantjies inclusion to be honest. They have Steyn, Goosen and Lambie in there already. All he will be doing is holding tackle bags all week.

I think Meyer sees Lambie as a 15 Pete, I've never seen him mention him as potential 10.

I've even read something that Meyer suggested Fran Steyn as backup to M Steyn if Goosen struggles.

Just read McCaw is to take a sabitical after the AIs. Won't play summer internationals next year and will miss super rugby as well. Hoping to rest the body up so he can last the four years of his contract. Very interesting move. Big year for Luke Whitelock and Matt Todd at Crusaders so!

Seems like a really good idea for him - hopefully for my side will give Sam Cane a chance to develop for the All Blacks.

Wouldn't be surprised if more players start doing this as the game is just getting more and more demanding.

Saw that McCaw has won 98 out of the 110 games he's played for NZ - amazing record.

Anyone see the highlights of Toulon?

Wilkinson could be playing himself into the starting shirt for the Lions, I haven't seen him play this well in years - Michalek is playing some amazing rugby and they've started him at no9 and he got a standing ovation.

Sheridan is apparently doing very well out there too, and Hayman has finally, finally got some form - that is a gigantic front row they have. Wonder if Jenkins might have played himself out of the Lions tour by moving there as he's not starting at the moment.

Haven't seen how Delon Armitage is playing, but Steffon can't stop playing well out there.

Never know how much the French clubs put into the HC, they either seem to want to win their own league or the HC, doesn't seem as important to them as say it does to the Irish/Welsh teams.

Just watched glos game. Trinder so frustrating. Great on front foot but consistently lacking in defence. Robson at scrum half has been fantastic every game. Another to add to the list of potential test number 9s. Think they will look at him in the Saxons this year if film continues

Best game I've seen Robson have Matt, looks to have improved 100% since U20's. Totally outplayed Simpson in basics which is crazy seen as he's played about 6 games.

Totally outplayed Simpson on basics - haha.

Only problem with Simpson yesterday was kicking it too long - otherwise he put in another good game and had a perfectly good try disallowed.

Robson is a very good player, seems to be a mix of Simpson and Care - seems to be at the right club to develop - was every Gloucester back English? Burns is looking good.

Elliot Daly's try was amazing - just couldnt believe the number of pens that Payne and Tauloafo gave away.

How old is Trinder Mat?

This is Daly's first proper season as out and out 13 as he played a lot on the wing last year until all of our centres got injured. His footwork is brilliant, but hasn;t quite got his defence sorted, but not sure if that's because he plays with a different 12 each week or just a bit naive.

Simpson's passing and decision making is a lot better than say 18months ago as he's been working with Bracken, it's his kicking game that lets him down and agree that Robson was much better there. Hope Simpson can work on that as he's such a threat with his pace.

The Wasps backrow has to have the best haircuts in world rugby with Poff and AJ - outstanding effort from both.

Conditions not the best but Sarries certainly haven't changed their style this year. Poor Ashton must be freezing, he's hardly touched the ball.

Jamie George had a nightmare in the lineout, lack of game time is really hindering his development.

Trouble with Sarries is the number of changes they make each week to their starting team, got no chance to get any fluidity in attack and I am sure that it is management decisions as opposed to injuries, they seem to make 3-4 changes a week.

I think the other trouble they have is that there is absolutely no pace from 12, 13 and 15 to change the game and none really challenge the gainline like other players do from other teams e.g. Tuilagi at Tigers, or the guys with a bit more speed like Daly and Trinder showed yesterday.

They just seem to be built around defending, but a few times this season they've played some nice stuff, but if teams dont start playing more like Quins then they are going to get left behind. Quins play some amazing stuff as the offloads are just incredible and defences cant cope.

I just think it's the way they play Chris. Farrell doesn't help tbh, his distribution is really poor at times and hinders them when they get front foot ball. He's getting a little better but just doesn't put it on a plate like he should. He's kicking less than less season so hopefully he'll improve here.

They look much better with Hodgson at 10 but they don't like to play him there every game.

Sarries made 4-5 changes to their starting lineup from the looks of it, I think that their squad is too big and they are missing any chance of getting some cohesion like Quins have - Quins very rarely change their starting XV, whilst it is the opposite with Sarries.

Will probably benefit Sarries come the end of the season and during international periods, but they wont ever be able to play attacking rugby when they make so many changes.

Farrell has a lovely pass when he plays at no12, as he has more time with the ball there and doesnt have to make the decisions as quickly - very difficult to learn to play no10 like Farrell has done. I do like him, but he needs to start trying to play a bit more expansively - again the 12/13/15 for Sarries wont help him there.

I don't think you can blame anybody else for Farrell's deficiencies. He has Foden/Manu etc when he plays for England and still struggles.

His distribution is poor, nothing else. Nobody else is to blame. He needs to work on it simple as.
