The Hillsborough Memorial Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Liverpool
First topic message reminder :
Hello and welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub, a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The Pub has made its way to Liverpool in honour of the victims of the Hillsborough disaster, who may finally receive justice.
We are also mourning the sudden loss of Nevin Spence, his father Noel and brother Graeme, who died tragically at their farm in Hillsborough, Co. Down yesterday.
We offer our thoughts and deepest sympathies to his sisters Emma (who remains in a stable condition in hospital), Laura, their mother Essie, family and all friends and fans of the Ulster Rugby community.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no tampering with the pictures of Andy Murray, Craig Newby and Delme Thomas.

That I am. But yes we should. Going to miss watching RL etc in glorious HD.
I can't PM too well off my iPhone, but calling all Sarries.
Obviously this can't be taken as gospel, but Whiteheads had a ten and thirteen that kicked a lot against us in pre-season, their loosehead was their stronger scrummager and they didn't compete against us when we threw lineouts to the middle of the lineout.

Evening all. It turns out I'm staying at the resort that Ulster trained at before the HEC final. Got chatting to the owner earlier and because I'd mentioned growing up on a farm i had to explain what a slurry pit was. He said the Ulster lads were a great bunch when they stayed.

Momentum now then Penfro. Home game too isn't it? I don't know what Sarries are like now player wise, but we did have a fair bit of joy with our two centres who are pretty strong runners too crashing up and running lines. But keep it under your hat that I've said anything, as I know a couple of their players fairly well including the ten (though I'd sooner the Sarries won).
I'll be honest Kiwi, I didn't know till yesterday what a slurry pit was.

Buenas tardes, amigos. There is nothing that can be said which would add to the heartfelt postings that the regs have already put up about the shocking events of yesterday. I try to put myself into the position of Mrs Spence to be able to empathise, but it's just impossible - my brain recoils in the face of such awful tragedy.
On a lighter note, Himself and I are away to La Bella Italia tomorrow. Catch you all later. And stay safe, please.

Jones was great for Wasps yesterday. We've not had a controlling 10 like him since Alex King. Cipriani brought some great stuff to our game at times, but SJ was superb in the way he controlled yesterday's game. 9/9 from the tee too.

Penfro, when do you get to Garda? We leave on the 28th - will we miss you? A meet for a bicchiere di vino would be great! My mobile number is in the FB pub contact info. In the meantime, I wait while himself continues to run his bl**dy hotel over the phone. There really, really isn't anybody else who knows how to order booze??? What happens if they run out over the next 2 weeks?

A bit quiet in here. At least it's civilised as always.
Unlike "the lounge" which was the scene of some loose remarks.
Thanks Staggy and Rava for your messages - the guy went feral at me!
Has been dealt with but now I'm sort of quietly fuming about it.

Know what you mean Linebreaker. Has been on my ignore list for quite a while but I got a text pointing it out to me. Had to let you know.

Been 'distracted' by the awful events of Saturday but wanted to say that I had a fantastic time on Friday night and was nice to hook Rava and Stag (and Notch briefly) .
Sorry didn't do a better tour of Belfast on Saturday afternoon stag, was a bit worse for wear.... hope you had a good time up there anyways.

I hope lucky doesn't see my "it's" above.
Had a good message exchange with Rava - he filled me in with some background info. Still, no excuse for that kind of behaviour.
Yesterday was the first Sunday since Feb without footy here. It felt kind of different. I watched a couple of ITM matches though. I really can get into that comp. Such full on rugby. All the grounds have character and if you're lucky... a nice mountain range in the background with lush pastures for miles, white 'dots' grazing away.

Yea we had a great time on Saturday. Ultimate tour of Belfast. Drove down by the Odessy and the Titanic buildings then down by Queens University and Botanic Avenue. Then into the Shankill and the Falls and all along the "Peace Line" on both sides across by the Ardoyne and Crumlin Road.

A poster belittled the tributes to Nevin Spence as sickeningly sentimental and did not react well to people telling him that it is not the time nor place to such sentiment.
