The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Oxford
First topic message reminder :
Hello and welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub, a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The Pub has made its way to Oxford and the only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no tampering with the pictures of Seve Ballesteros, Andy Fenby, Nick Williams,Tim Visser, Adam Ashley Cooper and Paul Lawrie up on the wall.

Have they come back yet or is that a separate programme?

Understandable... and it explains too why the camera crew never returned either.

They are holed up at the Liberty Stadium waiting to film a Munster win.

Question for the Welsh regs, is Hennessy a common name in Wales? There’s the ref Neil Hennessy, the footballers have a goalie called Wayne (I think) Hennessy and I remember Cari saying there was an election poster up in her area a couple of years ago for someone with my exact name on it. It’s not that common in Ireland I’d say, certainly not in Dublin.

There's a Welsh singer called something Hennessy, very Kairdiff. There was a family at our church called Hennessy too.

Ah Rava, we can't buy a win over there for love nor money. It was a great result for Ulster to get a scalp over there. Its been a good start for you lot.Rava wrote:They are holed up at the Liberty Stadium waiting to film a Munster win.
The likes of Jarred Payne and Nick Williams have been great additions to the foreign legion adding to others like Tom Court, John Afoa, Johann Muller, Dan Tuohy, Pedrie Wannenburg, Ruan Pienaar, Robbie Diack, Stefan Terblanche, Rob Herring, Callum Black, Adam Darcy, Sean Doyle and Simon Danielli to have worn the red hand in the last year or so.
Glad Rory McIllroy has made it all possible. Must be nice to take the easy route to the top and not have to do any hard work

You are a little feicer Stag but you already know that When you remove the IQ players from your list and strike out those no longer with us you can see we are a lot less dependent on foreigners than any of our Provincial rivals

Indeed, the prop with an Australian mum and Australian dad and born in Australia and grew up in Australia and represented Australia in the shot put and trialled for the Australian Olympic Team and played his rugby in Australia before coming up here for a working holiday in 2006 is "Irish"
Gotcha! Say no more. I know how it can be in Belfast for foreigners. Tom Court is right to try and blend in. Makes for a safer life

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Oxford
ha no, I'd only been telling people it's "in October sometime" and I only told mam, dad and my sis on Sunday that it was today.
Didn't want the extra pressure
Just so chuffed, I was convinced I'd failed in the first 5 mins as I had a proper panic, but ended up with only 5 minors, 3 of which came in the 5 mins of panic! Just so SO happy!
Diolch to you both

Na, it was somewhere between Kaupate and Waiwhakamukau. Which admitedly does resemble Swansea

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Oxford
Lucky - I had to do the parallel park, and apparently I did it "nigh on perfect". I honestly don't know how, I think it's because I thought I'd already failed, but my clutch control was dreadful because my leg was shaking so much! It was definitely the best I'd ever done it though.
And then he took me on the horrible back roads test route where thank God I met absolutely no traffic.
Seriously, was the best run I could have had I think.
Rava - too blydi true

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Oxford
I thought I'd failed my test too (the third one which I actually passed) after I clipped the kerb a bit at a tricky uphill junction. I was gutted but I do think it took the pressure off the rest of the test. I was all over the place on my first test, I was messing everything up.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Oxford
Yes that's what I did when I had my 5 mins of panic Lucky, I'd clipped the kerb and was convinced I'd completely messed it up. It was on a really tricky narrow bend though and he said they took that into consideration. My first 5 mins was a bit rubbish but the rest was okay apart from the seriously shaking leg thing. That was horrible!
Just, ah man, relief

What is Pass Plus?

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Oxford
Pass Plus is like a 6 hour lesson really, where you get taken on busier roads, duel carriage ways etc and I think you go on the motorway as well. it's all just to help new drivers build up their confidence. Think if you get it it takes a whack off your insurance too.
I've passed in a pretty quiet town, so getting time to practice on bigger roundabouts and roads etc will be good for me I think
And diolch!

I would say that there is some fighting talk
Hopefully with both of us having such good backlines it'll make for a great game

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Oxford
Lucky - ah that's ace. Think the pass plus will only cost me £20 as I'm still under 26, goes up to £130 or something after that though.
