The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Oxford
First topic message reminder :
Hello and welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub, a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The Pub has made its way to Oxford and the only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no tampering with the pictures of Seve Ballesteros, Andy Fenby, Nick Williams,Tim Visser, Adam Ashley Cooper and Paul Lawrie up on the wall.

Just been reading an interview with Stoddart and apparently he's back running his quickest times since 2008. Goon on him I say, really hoe he makes a successful comeback now after such a bad injury.

Thats really awful to hear about that poor girl missing.
How is everyone this morning. Feeling good after a tough fitness session and an early night last night.

Ah what did you get Luckless - do tell. Have you a "routine".
I actually made my own "pizza" snack last night. Baguette with some of the white bread part removed, filled with tomato paste and put cheese and mushroom on top. Into the oven - lurvly!!

Morning all.
I've just read that Berrick Barnes punctured a lung vs the Boks at the weekend. The Wallabies have been incredibly unlucky with injuries this year.
Mike Harris will be their 5th fullback in 10 matches.

Thats a photo gallery of Munster training yesterday. What really jumps out at me is how everyone is smiling.
Also very interested to see former Munster forwards coach Laurie Fisher (who now coaches Brumbies) came into Limerick to help out at training.

Stag, I had the 'Mighty Meaty' - Cumberland sausage, pepperoni, ham, ground beef, onions and mushrooms, but with roquito peppers instead of onions and a barbecue sauce instead of the tomato one. It's a stunningly good pizza.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Oxford
Stuart Barnes was on Newstalk last night. I thought he spoke very well.
I agreed with a lot of what he said:
It was a good listen.
I agreed with a lot of what he said:
- Ulster to progress furthest in the Heineken Cup
- Kidney has not developed his gameplan at the same speed the provinces have
- It is perfectly understandable for a rugby player to value his province more than his country
- The RaboDirect Pro 12 is a easy scapegoat for a lot of English rugby media and fans who won't admit they have "lost their way" slightly
It was a good listen.

Furthest of the Irish provinces or furthest that they've done recently (ie win it)? Certainly possiblered_stag wrote:Stuart Barnes was on Newstalk last night. I thought he spoke very well.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Oxford
As in for Ulster to progress further than Munster, Connacht and Leinster. He said that it was based on the fact that they were likely to get a home quarter final where as he expected Munster and Leinster to be away if they progress.
He backed Ulster for a semi final minimum, Leinster for quarter final minimum and Munster for quarter final maximum.

I have to say I almost always agree with what Stuart Barnes has to say. I know some people hate him with a passion but I think he's usually spot on.

I agree entirely. I think he is an excellent pundit in that he has an opinion, he is able to sensationalise some elements of the game for dramatic effect and really loves his rugby.
On the radio yesterday he also said how he loves visiting real rugby communities like Limerick, Leicester, Toulouse where on a big match weekend every local is all talking about it and there is a sense of community pride you rarely see in sport.

I had the meatlicious the other day - ham, sausage, pepperoni, chicken and bacon it normally has, but I swapped chorizo for pepperoni and meatballs for bacon. Was immense. Might have another tonight now. Their online ordering and tracking system is fantastic too.

Have house spiders started hibernating / died yet? I've heard a few people say they've seen giants this year but I haven't seen any - yet! In fact, I haven't for a few years now so I know the next one I see will be the Goliath of all house spiders. You'd think I'd want to get it over and done with, but I'm happy to postpone it 'til next year.

My missus is Poopie scared of them, so I have had to get rid of some. Pretty big ones too, but compared to say Australia etc, I guess you can't compare.
Hoog, if you manage the offers, Dominos aren't too costly then.
