The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Taihape
Hello and welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub, a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The Pub has made its way to Taihape - The Gumboot Capital of the World!
http://www.taihape.co.nz/
We also welcome our newest member, Amber ...who no doubt will have an interest in those boots!
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no tampering with the pictures of Aaron Smith, Topsy Ojo, Jason Shoemark, Tom Rees, Gonzalo Garcia, Leo the Leinster Lion and Lalakai Foketi up on the wall.

Me Hearty Regs - I didn't refer to the awful situation about little April in the OP.
I realise we all have differing views as to whether we should acknowledge this in the OP- but one thing is for sure: we are all as one in our grief and sorrow.
Just trying to keep a happier spin on things but of course we should always remain in touch with the starker realities of the day and discuss these events in our usual communicative way.

I was short on other offers Hound. I couldn't see any particular requests for players (might have missed them?) so I just plucked a few from as many different countries as possible.
Lalakai Foketi is the young Australian Schoolboy who starred in the Trans Tasman Cup yesterday.
Someone needs to send me a list of the best Euro players just before this Pub fills up.

I did suggest NB before we quit the old place. He's had to retire from the game at 28 after a number of concussion injuries.
Everyone at Wasps hope he's ok.

The name of that town has been in my head for about 30 years. We had a friend of a relative from Taihape stay with us when I was a kid - and we amused ourselves for days hearing 'her' say where she was from.
She thought it was funny too and kept repeating the word. Thai Happy
Basically, Taihape is on a Y-junction north of Wellington. Turn right and you go to the east coast of the NI... Napier, Gisborne, etc.
Turn left and you go towards Lake Taupo and the snow-capped cones of the volcanoes of Mt Ruapehu and Mt Mount Ngauruhoe and up towards Rotarua, Auckland.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY STAGGY!! I think you used to be the Pub Baby, but I'm not sure now.
'Ound - I know you meant another Nic Berry - I was being silly
Dreamer - yes, it's a lovely day in the capital too - make the most of it...the forecast wasn't good just now.
Watching Junior Bake Off - these kids put me to shame. They're brilliant!

First of all, Hippy Buffday Stag.
Prop, make the most of it bud - it'll be your last for a while. Just a few more pieces of the jigsaw to drop into place and Bath will be competing on the fringes of the top four, it wont happen this season, but I'm expecting some seismic changes in personnel to be announced come January, there are lots of contracts finishing at the end of the season.
There are some key personnel missing at the moment, and Bath are still improving on their gameplan, ultimately, those were the key differences yesterday, Glaws had a better bench with greater quality in depth and they also had the game management to close out the result after dragging themselves back into it.
Anyhoo, congratulations, Glaws were just about worth it, looking forward to the Rec game already.

I have to be honest, so unimpressed have I been with the Blues so far, I've picked Sale to beat them in my HC predictions.

Lá Breithe shóna duit Stag (people did it in other languages like....).
How are we all, not too bad here. Caught the game in time warp last night as I was at a family mass. ROG is not up to the standard (most fans have known this for a while, I've said it for a year ), Keatley is the way to go. He attacks the gainline, and actually seemed to gee up the forwards a bit, (some of this was cause by Leinster emptying the bench). Leinster were a class above when they had to be but seemed to lack the killer instinct to get the bonus.
Munster would have been lucky to come away with a LBP. I thinnk Laulala's effort would have been worth goign to the TMO, but that might be just my biased view. Zebo looked comfortable under the high ball again, and he showed a massive improvement from last year for POM's try. Last year he would have gone again himself as he wasn't held in the tacfkle, he might have made it regardless but did the sensible thing and offloaded to POM.

I would object, PJ, but the Blues were so totally pants that a new word had to be coined for them. Ineptitude itself thought about spitting on their performance but decided they weren't worthy of its saliva.
And the worst part of all is that they beat us the other week!

Ah Lucky, I feel I must appologise for Friday night's debacle. Serious incompetence on the part of the linesmen for the kick and Nigel for referring it, for Simmonds getting both calls wrong. Adam Hughes confirmed himself as my favourite Dragons player however. He is class.

There's no need for you to apologise Glas, none of that was your fault. We really didn't play well anyway. But you're right, Adam Hughes is class (even better at outside centre).

Just getting Amber used to her collar and lead now, think she's much rather spend her time eating them
And having watched a bit of the Blooose match, v glad I watched Strictly last night instead!

I'll have a question about steaks when I get back to the UK, Glas. Had a leaflet with a steak offer in Rugby World and wondering if it's worth it?
Something like 2 fillets, 2 ribeyes, and 3 other ones plus 12 mini steak burgers for £29
