The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Colwyn Bay
Hello and welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub, a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The pub has made its way to Colwyn Bay, where the Tier 2 AIs are currently taking place.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no tampering with the pictures of Bob Scott and Malele Kunavore above the bar.

Is your picture OK now?
Mulberry (or whatever colour that is) shirts look quite fruity. I would have stuck with the traditional white with red trim personally.

I suppose it's a reference to the early Roman settlers, no?

Ritchie Grey stays on despite being knocked out temporarily. Well, if he thinks he's OK...wonder how many players he sees though?

South Africa are winning all the collisions, and Gray has just gone off after taking a knock to the head. Not matching up in the physicality stakes is going to lose them this game.

I couldn't tell you where it comes from to be honest bud, it's generally reserved for the monarchy or mourning... I guess England's results during the AI's could be pertinent to either... we'll have to wait and see.
Yeah, I'm OK thanks, I've had some stressful "events" just recently, but things seem to be working out for the better. I must remember to vent my frustrations in more appropriate ways, I put Biltong in a difficult place which I apologised for.
I'm on best behaviour again.
I can't quite work out how Australia are losing this game, and how they got pasted by the French?!

Craig McLachlan in for OZ there, I was a big fan of his during his Neighbours days.
Benefitted from an iffy pass, but deserve to be in front so can't complain.
Cari, you weren't a complete a-hole though were you?
Not impressed with myself when all is said and done.

Tuilagi strikes back. Molecules of paint & ball in it and some could argue a double movement but fair dues to him... Wallabies too slow to respond.

That's debatable
Oh no! Iffy Scottish pass gives the Saffas an intercept and a Strauss try.
3-19 before conversion.

Interception try by the big hooker Adriaan Strauss. I don't think there's any way back at all for Scotland now.

Thanks Breaker...I just wondered how that game's going. It also makes me dread the Six Nations somewhat, that...
Pyrgos really seems to have made a difference since he came on. I reckon he'll start next match.

Think in that instance Oz can consider themselves lucky to be in England's half, if Alexander binds on the arm like that, Marler will struggle to bind at all.
Still, Oz deserve to be winning so can't complain.

Saffers are far too early in the Scrum. Doubt it'll cost them but still fairly careless.

Robshaw should have taken the 3 points, I've forgotten how many games I've seen this season decided by 3 points or less when forwards have figured they're going to score a try.
Forwards always think they're going to score a try from 10 metres out.

How Scotland haven't scored in the last ten minutes is beyond me. Very frustrating for the locals, but it's woken them up. They've played really well this latter quarter or so. Saffers in danger of being binned. They've given away too many penalties.

I'd like to see the stats on South African penalties - they've given away loads in the last few minutes. No yellow though. As elusive as a Scottish try...oh wait, VDM is binned.

England putting some pressure on, but without the invention, it's largely pointless.
And hands in the scrum for England... good spot by the AR, I imagine.

However, the same AR doesn't see the ball fall short of the crossbar from 5 metres...

Another 3 points ignored by England... for nothing... again.
Sheesh, t'would possibly be all square with 10 to go, definitely smell an Oz victory here.

Tut-tut, the truth is out, when it comes down to it, England haven't got a clue how to read or manage a game and when will someone give the captain a bollxing for thinking the team is going to score from 10 metres whern there's absolutely no evidence to support it?
You refuse penalty goal options when you're 20 points down with 25 to go, not 6.

Commiserations PJ, Hound, Ozzie, Swanny & Co..
I'm actually very surprised at that Wallaby performance. It was immense.
The ferocity and intensity of the tackles were something to behold, good to see our backs use the ball more and chancing their arm.
England are not too shabby either but they were unlucky at times. Ref robbed them on that 'forward pass'.
Cheers mate.
... and congrats Pete on the 42-10 win over Italy.

Well Scotland didn't start playing until it was too late in truth, I really wanted them to win but they looked shell-shocked at the level of South Africas physicality in the first 50 and didn't clear the ruck quickly enough. You can't beat them with a slow game!

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Colwyn Bay
Looking forward to seeing the three amigos next up in Limerick.
Went down to the opening fixture in the re-branded Lansdowne Road in the summer of 2010- it was a fixture contested by Academy players. Ulster/Leinster U20s vs Connacht/Munster U20s.
My dad asked me who to look out for, I said three young Ulster guys who are really going to go places- Paddy Jackson at 10, Luke Marshall at 12 and Craig Gilroy at 14. They were all 18/19 at that point. Now they are all 20/21 and all three starting for Ireland together having come through the ranks at Ulster... plenty more to come from them.
