The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Colwyn Bay
First topic message reminder :
Hello and welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub, a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The pub has made its way to Colwyn Bay, where the Tier 2 AIs are currently taking place.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no tampering with the pictures of Bob Scott and Malele Kunavore above the bar.

It has been fairly quiet recently. Maybe they're trying to avoid all the nonsense you get whenever the national sides are playing.

I missed it, Prop. I watched highlights on the ITV4 website and I've spent the last half an hour or so dissecting Wales's performance with a bloke from the council who's come into the office!
Good luck with that, Kiwi. Is it a mini-exam on British history or something?

History and current stuff - you need to know things like
"when did women get the vote?"
"who make up the shadow cabinet?"
"which groups are entitled to free prescriptions in England?"
"what %age of the population is Budhist?"
...

That's tough. Most people born here would probably fail it. Unless you're given the questions beforehand, in which case you can just look up the answers.

It is multi-choice at least. But you need 18 or more out of 24 correct to pass. I've been working my way through a host of practice tests.
Some good news for Breaker

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Colwyn Bay
Evening pub.
I only saw highlights of England's game but from what I saw credit must go to Aus for a very good performance. Even when England were dominating territory, Aus tackled like demons and rarely missed. They bossed the breakdown, and showed up an all too familiar failing in that aspect with recent England teams.
Having said that, England did create chances but failed to execute. The turning down of kickable penalties against such opponents was therefore brainless.
Yup, we did not deserve to win when you add it all up, and the rugby press hammered England this morning, having had a day to digest the match.

Evening All
Prop mentioned a lot of regz dropping off here lately. I've noticed that for a while. It's a shame really as this place is only what the posters make it (if they want it to continue). I don't think it's all down to the internationals as some post on other threads just not here. Maybe some just can't be arrsed, it's not interesting or life is just getting in the way. Hopefully people are keeping in touch off line anyway.

Hi Cari!
It has been quiet in here of late. It has always ebbed and flowed but has never been as busy since a certain young barmaid moved jobs and so wasn't around as much during the day! Just not the same.
Plus, I know some of the posters "out there" during the internationals would drive folks off the site.
How's you anyway? Still looking forward to your visit?

Ah no, it was way busy after I'd changed jobs.
Yes I am looking forward to my trip...I'm a smidge concerned about the weather. I just don't want any blydi snow. I can cope with cold and rain but no snow! I'm getting my air ticket the week after next. I didn't want anything else for Xmas so I told Mother to get my plane ticket and she was happy with that. Well, what else could I get for Xmas besides a trip to see Tommy?
Oh yeah and you guys...

You want to get near the "tunnel" where the players go in and out. Or sure you can hang around till they all come out ofbthe changing rooms and say "Hi!"

Evening ladies. I don't post as often as I did (and that wasn't much), mainly because of work.
I was wondering whether anyone had posted stuff that put some people off. I couldn't come up with anything mind.
There are plenty of regs contributing to the International forum at the moment - eirebilly seems back to his old self
Anyway, when's your trip to Belfast Cari?

I'm going in mid January to the Heino match Ulcer v Weegies. Can't wait. Looking forward to having a squiz round.

You can mention my name Mrs P. It's regrettable that anyone feels they need to leave the site, but I won't be apologising for having a different opinion to someone else. There is an ignore option and mods are there to ensure the rules aren't broken so I'm not sure why anyone would feel driven off the site.

Rodders!
I have to say you were not any where close to the list of "trouble makers" I had in mind when I said that!!
I was thinking of the few eegits who almost made this site unusable for me last 6 nations!
Sure, we've just got the second best number 8 in Ulster back, wouldn't want to go losing THE original and the best!

It will be a grand trip, I'm sure.
Asbo should be sorting out a Christmas meet up for the London based regs. That will be a good night. Last year I (inadvertantly) ended up booting a warning sign around Bank tube station.
Well, it was in the way of me stumbling along , and I didn't see it.
Some warning sign. I nearly fell over it!

Were you trying to play rugby with the sign ? I've seen a few things get drop kicked about by drunks. They could actually introduce that as a new olympic sport...
