England vs Italy: Match thread
First topic message reminder :
So what are peoples predictions? It's snowing in Leicester, so I presume similar weather at Twickenham?
I have a bad feeling about this game and don't think England will run away with it as many are predicting.

Because they are two distinct words and one of them (the first one) means pause?
The ref didn't invent the words or bring them into the game...but maybe he's just saying 'Pause' isn't 'Set'?

Maybe it's time we took a bit of perspective.
England only just beat a TERRIBLE TERRIBLE France
They scraped past a terrible Ireland.
Have England been THAT good?
Italy are doing well so far. Wales could tear it up next week.

I hate to point out but the ref does not say pause.
It is crouch, touch, set.
Clancy wants a long pause between touch and set. I have no idea why.

To be fair to England - it took Wales untill the second half to break down Italy last year
Italy need to stop getting charged down
And they are down to 14 :/

What are you all on about? Even when Italy had the same number of players on the field, I only see one victory here....

Excellent scraping in defense by Italy
They have to hold out the next 10 without conceeding a try

Italy don't want to kick while they are down to 14

England turn over possession again

Parisse appears in more positions than Ron Jeremy or Shane Williams.
Ashton really is a word that rhymes with Bank.

Oh sorry..I mean they are three distinct words........crouch, touch, set. I guess that means touch isn't set??? Yep, the theory still works.

Whoops my bad. Yeah that is the only thing that has been confusing me this weekend, the pause between touch and set.

So maybe Terrible terrible France and terrible terrible Ireland have together completely confused concepts of just how good England, Wales and the rest genuinely are this season?

Oh wow England are shoite.
i mean, I knew they were overrated due to the low standard of the tournament this year, but wow, no attacking brains as a team, lacking composure.
Oh and that Italian 14 defending against Brown was Ashtonesque

Haha rich coming from the arrogance brigade. How many games have you predicted us to lose? I counted our last 3. Did we get any congratulations or apologies? No. Just complaining about how bad the ref or opposition were.
Note my earlier prediction. Today is a 10 point win for England. Next week is an 18 point win for Wales.

Flattering to deceive methinks. Not too much invention about England's play. Workmanlike would just about sum it up for me.

Ashton positioning following brown was quite bad. Another wasted try opportunity. At least keeps italy vaguely in the game.

No anti English sentiment here. Just hopeful now that it's this England team that turns up in Cardiff. Not the one that 'beat' NZ.
