The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Walkabout, Covent Garden
First topic message reminder :
Hello and welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub, a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The pub has made its way to the original Walkabout pub in London's Covent Garden, as it is set to close its doors at the end of the month.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no tampering with the pictures of Mark Ella or recent birthday boys Gibson and Glas a du above the bar.

Ah Jayzuz Prop, that could even come close to de Rev dance for Mrs Rev, in Cardiff. I fell in lust with him at that very moment.

Afternoon Cari. Love the Goon's kind of humour. I'll see if I can find that one on YouTube.
How's your day been so far? Lazy Sunday morning?
It's now only 9 hours difference between GMT and AEST - we turned the clocks back an hour this morning.
I'm watching the Paris-Roubaix... cobbles & dust.
Tossing up whether I should get Setanta for the HEC Quarter finals or try and watch it on a stream. Such a pain when they have most of the T14 games on another channel but not the bloody HEC!

Good luck CJ.
...and the Munster regs too.
Think I tipped Quins by 7; Toulon by 13. Don't ask me how I arrived at those numbers!

Sorry Breaker, went to make lunch there. Just a lazy Sunday, yeah. Peace before the week starts again...at least I have another four day week anyway.
I'm not watching the Quins/Munster game, but good luck to the supporting regs.

Yeah Cari, it's a hassle I know.
Just got on... saw a bit of the Sky preview... then it sort of conks out.
Do you configure anything on the PC or just click the stream with the most stars?
the Al Jazeera one seems OK. Thanks be to Allah!

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Walkabout, Covent Garden
Good win, surprising as it was, Munster's pack haven't played that well in god knows how long. Super display, was talking with DOD on the mathday thread on Friday, all my concerns were basically answered and then some.
We need a big day from our pack to do it, it's possible, there's a lot to like about the forwards but even when they play well they don't seem to get the dominance the teams of old had, in a one of game it's possible, ROG's distance is pretty shot but he is still pretty accurate from hand, the lineout is a tricky one, Ryan and POC haven't played together since Racing Metro, hard for Sherry to get used to the both but POM being there might help a bit.
Should be interesting no matter what happens.

ROG's kicking was accurate but what people won't give credit to is the kick chase, I don't know if I have seen it better executed by anyone that was superb stuff. Balance in the backrow is key, Munster's aren't big names but they work in unison and can fill a number of roles. Nick Williams was a luxury yesterday when Henry was doing it all on his own with Best and Henderson ineffective.

A teenager who became Britain's first youth police and crime commissioner (PCC) has apologised for her "inappropriate" comments on Twitter.
Paris Brown, 17, was appointed to work alongside Kent's Independent PCC Ann Barnes representing young people across the county last week.
Paris said she was "wildly exaggerating" in what could have been considered racist and anti-gay tweets.
In a statement, Paris said she was "not homophobic, racist or violent and am against the taking of drugs".

Here's a tip, Paris: if you're not homophobic or racist, don't say things that are homophobic or racist.

It's an amazing story really, when you think how male-dominated politics was, for this grocer's daughter to become leader of her party and then of the country.

She was one ruthless mo-fiecer all right. Modern britain, good and bad, I think is still very much a direct product of her reign and every prime minister whos followed has been desperate to emulate her.
Personally I think the whole things is and was an omnishambles hut hey ho you can't knock someone for trying I suppose.

Afternoon all.
Great catching up with Hughie, Stag, Rava, Asbo & hangers-on yesterday. Though the whole weekend has left my liver reeling
Ozzy/Glas, do either or both of you fancy doing a podcast tomorrow? Stag is available too.
I'm thinking HEC quarters, a little on the WRU/Regions stoush, plus maybe some Super rugby if there's time.

Welcome to Heino q/f weekend.
I've just met stag and his brother before they fly back to Ireland. They seemed in remarkably good shape considering.

The last time I watched Eastenders was the evening of the day my brothers-in-law and I climbed Ben Nevis. The script was so unrealistic it was funny.
That evening I had a prawn jalfrezi from the Mount Everest takeaway in Fort William, which is one of the best curries I've ever had. Bit far to ask them to deliver here, though.
Bore da pawb / good morning all.

Presumably Scrum V will be showing Scarlets v Glasgow on Friday. No offence, Glas, but I'm a bit of a Glasgow fan these days - ever since they trounced us, actually. I've watched them on BBC Alba and they play a great brand of rugby.

How extraordinary that Gerry Kelly can, without any apparent sense of irony, accuse Mrs Thatcher of operating a shoot to kill policy.

To think most farmers think gorse is a pain in the arse!
In other news, the Government is consulting on proposed changes to criminal legal aid which would see four firms respionsible for all of the police station and magistrates court work in Dyfed Powys

It is not untrue? Both sides were pretty cut-throat at that time. The woman probably added 10 years to the troubles. She had a knack for creating martyrs and alienating communities.
You can complain about Gerry Kelly, but Thatchers hard line on the troubles is one of the main things that brought Sinn Fein into mainstream politics. Like Ian Paisley, she was invaluable propaganda for the republican cause.
