Cazorla's bossing this game so far. I'm surprised the Fulham players aren't picking him up better because he's had loads of space numerous times on the edge of the box.

Wouldn't be surprised if this match is abandoned, the pitch looks awful.

Podolski is such a class player, I can't understand why Arsenal don't use him more.

Fulham are a real mess at the back today, they're just not picking up Cazorla at all. Great finish by Podolski though but no one was near him.

Re: Barclays Premier League 13/14 Thread
This is the thing about arsenal. We talk about them a lot- Possibly move that any other team- including our own!! And we have a go at them, we have a go at wenger. But when they play their brand of quality football and it works you get them- Even it is for that moment only. It all makes sense..However we all forget soon enough..
Have we all forgetting about the point of football. watching good football is what its all about and why we love it. Yet we waste hours of every day whinging about the game when no football is on!!

Fulham have really disappointed me today, they're much better than they are playing.

I've said it many times. Talent isn't Arsenals problem, its mindset.
I think Fulhams squad is lacking tbh, a few big names disguise it a bit.

Arsenal have been clinical in this game. I thought Fulham were actually the better side between the first goal and the second, and they should have taken one of their chances. They didn't, and Arsenal have punished them. Ruthless. Long way back now for Fulham.

Re: Barclays Premier League 13/14 Thread
Taraabt basically summed up what he offers today, individually he can be great but so often his final ball is lacking and as a team player he's awful. I don't think he can played as a left winger, needs to be behind the striker as a free role so he doesn't have to track back as often.

Taarabt needs the team built around him.
I wouldnt bother with him at the top level.

Re: Barclays Premier League 13/14 Thread
I think that would be harsh, Fulham are fine as a mid-table club, shouldn't let a couple of years have overachievement change that. They've done well to consolidate their position in the Premier League and have quite a good foot in the transfer market where they can attract fairly high level players. Martin Jol is a good manager, and stability is needed.
Would love Podolski at Liverpool, love how direct he is.

Cabaye is not in the Newcastle squad.
Markus Rosenberg replaces Anelka.
Stewart Downing gets a start ahead of Joe Cole.
Dani Osvaldo is on the bench for Southampton.

Re: Barclays Premier League 13/14 Thread
But are they stable at the moment? The commentator mentioned they lost more home matches than away matches last season and Fulham are one of those clubs who survive (albeit comfortably most years) by having a great home record. Then when I look at the squad I see good players but not enough good players and making they're lacking a bit of depth too.

Re: Barclays Premier League 13/14 Thread
I don't think sacking Jol would solve any of them problems, arguably Fulham are punching above their weight with Jol as manager who has managed much bigger clubs than Fulham and been fairly successful. I do think he's in a precarious position though as they won't want to fall into the relegation battle and with new owners, they usually want to appoint their own manager.
As for Cabaye, Newcastle will be desperate for Arsenal to hurry up with a second bid so they can replace Cabaye.

Fair enough. I know sod all about the new guy but it just tends to happen more often than not. Hope Jol gets a fair crack.GSC wrote:Tbf, Shahid Kahn seems a good owner from what I've seen in the NFL. He did sack Mike Mullarkey after they'd both been in Jacksonville for one season though.GSC wrote:Tbf, Shahid Kahn seems a good owner from what I've seen in the NFL. Re: Barclays Premier League 13/14 Thread
That'll ease some of the pressure on Arsenal for the time being; a very solid win, based on good organisation, and clinical finishing.
As for Fulham, I thought Parker was absolute class in the middle for them. Keep it up Scotty. Other than that, the final ball was lacking for Fulham, and they were punished for weakness in defence.

Chamakh is very good if gets the right service unlike at Arsenal cos he's a tank in the air when fit can outjump 99% of people, Although that seems unlikely at Palace.

Betfred gave me a free £10 bet, so I got Everton, Southampton and Leicester to all win at odds of 10/3, would win me £33.33 in real money

I feel us not playing Cabaye obviously means we want to sell but now we look like the ones desperate to sell before the window and now it will probably be only £13m or so. Cant believe Ameobi is playing, our bench is horrific.
