Yeah Sunderland battered Arsenal for periods in that game. I recon they will be fine once they all gel as a team.
Arsenal did play some cracking football, however the thing with them one or 2 injury's to key players and they are completely screwed. They did play well, but still looked very shakey at the back as well IMO.

Like i said earlier, superb play from Jelavic, great little knock back and Naismith did the rest. Good birthday present for him!
Gareth Barry and Ross Barkley both had superb games, really liking the look of Everton's new squad. People who said they would do badly under Martinez, really need to have a look at themselves!
Very good game of football though, but IMO the better team won.

Said Gareth Barry was a good addition. One of those players who doesn't quite cut it at a top club but good player.

Tottenham looking class, Erikson really does look like there missing link!
Sigurdsson is a good little player to have in the team IMO, brings goals to the table and is a tidy player. No idea why Tottenham were thinking of loaning him out.
Norwich just simply beaten by the much better side.
Lloris should of been sent off for the handball shouldn't he?

I think for Tottenham and this squad, it's about how they perform against the top 4 to see how far they've come. Until then, I'm not going to get excited about them beating Norwich at home.
United's midfield is just terrible.

Ashley Young booked for diving, shouldn't Evra have been booked as well?
Like i said a few weeks ago with Hull's miss at Man City, Dwight Gayle needs to take those chances at games like man united.
Clear foul by Dikagoci, pretty stupid foul as well, he did that a lot at Championship level, so ill imagine he will do it even more at Prem level. Pen taken well as expected by RVP.
Class free kick by Wayne Rooney, pure class.

Not exactly difficult for a lad to impress when United fans have to suffer the dire performances of Young, Cleverley, Giggs & Anderson every week.GSC wrote:Time for the Januzaj hype train to commence after half an hour against Palaces 10 men

Well played by Remy, in the build up to Ben Arfa's goal but poor defending by Aston Villa.
What a miss by Agbonlahor, needs to score those.
Great header by Benteke, even better as he is my fantasy captain this week
Gouffran looked good when he came on, took his goal well, hope we can see more of him this season.

Ben Arfa seems one happy chappy. Quality player too.

Re: Barclays Premier League 13/14 Thread
Ben Arfa was brilliant today and last week. Credit to Pardew for making him happy, where others have failed. It's a WC year and players like Ben Arfa/Remy are on the fringe of the French squad, hoping they can stay injury free. Keeping Cabaye was a huge momentum shift in our favour. Good start to the season.

Where are all the fans at Stoke? Every season they have been in the prem, there crowds seem to dip. Playing a big team in Man City as well!
Both keepers played very well.
Fair point.

Stoke fans probably don't know what this type of football Hughes is trying to play. They've never seen it, there wondering where Rory's long ball throw ins are. There not happy.
City confuse me. They don't look great, they don't look bad, just something is missing. Fernandino & Navas don't impress me, Jovetic is too early to judge. Negredo looks a good deal, suits this league as long as the service is pin-point.

How has Danny Graham put that over! Looking half the player he used to be. Needs his confidence back.
Superb cross by Tom Huddlestone, well taken by Curtis Davies. Really have no idea why people think Huddlestone is rubbish. All iv'e seen him do this season is play well!
Nice tidy finish by Peter Whittingham, he has been wasted in the Championship. Too good for that league.
Been impressed with both sides so far this season.

I think Danny Graham would struggle to score in League One, if I'm honest. Hull are basically relegated because they don't have the goals in them.

Wasn't me, but I can understand it. Our away performances have been awful for a long time now. Just no ambition away from home. We were shockingly poor today. We're two completely different teams at the minute. Need to start replicating our home performances, outside of Norfolk.NickisBHAFC wrote:Just heard a Norwich fan crying on 606 and calling for Chris Hughton to get sacked
It's a lot of money to pay to see us barely muster a decent shot on goal

I can see 8 or 9 teams involved in the dog fight come May. Sunderland look by far the worst "team" I've seen thus far. Awful.

Oh and I wouldn't get too excited by Eriksen just yet. He was only up against Bradley Johnson after all.
It makes me cry when I see Johnson's name on the teamsheet. Awful awful awful player

This is one of the reasons why its so hard to stay up in the prem.. Refs will always favour the bigger named team.

As for yesterday never a penalty, would've happily seen Young get booked again. If hes banned he can't play which is fine by me.

I still don't know how Lloris wasn't sent off yesterday. He's done a deliberate handball outside the area, whilst absolutely destroying RVW in the process. Not that we would have got anything from it, but still a baffling decisionmystiroakey wrote:Exactly..

Re: Barclays Premier League 13/14 Thread
Since when has deliberate handball been a red?
He has 2 defenders behind him, I don't see how it's a clear goalscoring opportunity.
When Bunn did it last season he was last man. They explained it clearly on match of the day

Haven't seen it again since MOTD but didn't he jump up to punch the ball believing he was in his area? Not sure it was a cynical deliberate handball bearing in mind that's what goalkeepers tend to do, punch the ball now and again.
I'll have to see it again though.

Never a red card, deliberate handball is a yellow card, preventing a clear goal scoring opportunity is a red card, as he wasn't preventing a a clear goal scoring opportunity a yellow card is spot on.
