If they want to start at the bottom sure. Why should they get parachuted into the top flight at the expense of teams that have worked for it?

Yes spot on GSC.
However 5 years down the line yoyo teams like palace will be the most affected. As it truly would only be delaying the inevitable(but fairly). They will make it to the top flight. They will have to many fans and too much money not to

As for todays matches:
Stoke v Norwich - I cant stand Stoke and always remember our bus breaking down at the Britannia Stadium and we all had to jump on other coaches. Good job it broke down in the car park and not outside otherwise it would have been a massacre
Plus Delia is in my GILFage category
Sunderland v Liverpool - I pretty much cheer on anyone who plays Liverpool due to south Wales Liverpool fans being the most annoying people you could ever meet

Indeed. I'd have no issue with that.
I would if we just pandered to the arrogance of the Old Firm.
Be interesting if thu actually were prem class. Celtic feed off Championship players

You're being too harsh on Moyes - they've had tough games and there hasn't been a great deal of difference in the level of performances compared with this time last season, the only difference is that van Persie isn't bailing you out every other game.

As a utd fan you dopn't expect to be losing at home to West Brom but credit to them, they played fantastic yesterday and deserved the win. Scored two cracking goals and really took it to utd. Its not a great start obviously but I'm still happy with Moyes and will back him all the way. The summer dealings or lack of have shown we desperately need investment but we still have a good side.
Glad to see Januzaj yesterday and with Lingard progressing nicely we have got two cracking young prospects. I'd say credit where credit is due to West Brom because they were superb yesterday. Onto to Shaktar now which won't be easy but a draw at the moment would be an excellent result for Moyes.

Thats because were giving him no service whatsoever. Were barely getting shots on goal and are only scoring set pieces. Theres one thing we united fans expect is to at least play decent footballLastDamnation wrote:You're being too harsh on Moyes - they've had tough games and there hasn't been a great deal of difference in the level of performances compared with this time last season, the only difference is that van Persie isn't bailing you out every other game.Ent wrote:Look moyes hasn't a clue and it has shown scarily early.

Re: Barclays Premier League 13/14 Thread
The only thing i'll really criticize Moyes on is his team selection. He's played Young way too much and only now has started playing Kagawa. He's brought on Cleverly at City and didn't use Kagawa. Very strange, and also Anderson yesterday. I'm sure he thought the team was good enough to get the job done yesterday and save some players for wednesday. At the end of the day, sometimes the players have to hold their hands up and say 'we didn't play well'

Nobodys untouchable when it comes to critising team selection, we used to ask that even about fergie at times. But more often than not fergie was proved right
Moyes put a rubbish team out yesterday with the likes of nani, anderson and buttner when there were plenty of better options and we got beat by wba at home!

I quite like Buttner, its Anderson who i can't stand. Would have rather have seen Cleverly there and that's saying something!! Desperately needed to strengthen the midfield in the summer and all we got was Fellaini. Needed two cm's at least. Also don't understand why Zaha isn't getting some game time/

Re: Barclays Premier League 13/14 Thread
Team selection is a fairly major thing to be critical of.
He tried to put out a solid team and not change it, when these guys couldn't get it done he tried to change it with no real logic to it.
When fergie put out a ropey team it was in the context of managing a squad over a 60 game season. Moyes just doesn't seem to know what he is doing.

This is gonna be a cracking result for Norwich. Stoke have looked out of sorts, but Norwich deserve credit for pressurising them and completely outplaying them in the first half. Begovic's general performance sums up Stoke (except the one good save from Snoddy), they've just not looked right.

anyone else see a sunderland win today? seems to happen often that players go back to their old club only to be beaten by what is considered much lesser opposition.

Wouldn't be surprised James. Teams often play better immediately after a management change.

I really hope Sunderland go down, so I will be cheering Liverpool today. Bunch of babies in that squad, everyone else is taking responsibility for their failings and I hope they get battered today.

The commentator is an idiot and keeps saying Sturridge's goal was a hand ball.
Sturridge threw his head at the ball and it came of his shoulder. He knew little about it and it went in. This was not an henry or maradona moment

To be fair, intentional or not, its handball if it hits his arm (and to me it hit arm not shoulder)

but what do you do as a player in that situation. It flashed off his shoulder/arm
it was a complete fluke, but not deliberate in the slightest. The commentator is an idiot and stating that sturridge was a cheat

He never called him a cheat, he said he looked to the linesman (which he did) cos he knew it had hit his arm (which I also think he did). Ive no problem with it, he didnt maradona it, but he knew it happened.

Definitely hand ball leans his arm into the ball to deflect it in. No idea how anyone could say otherwise. As blatant as they come

He has enough time to purposly move his arm to deflect it in. That movement was deliberate. Id be very suprised if anyone else shares your opinion other than very biased liverpool fans. All panel and commentators agree with me

you are saying its blatant purposeful handball.
You are saying he meant it
I said he was trying to head it, it happened fast, it hit his shoulder/arm.
The commentators agreed with everything i have stated.

Whether he meant it or not its still hanball. He clearly moves his arm to ball. only sturidge will know but he clearly lowers his arm to the ball to deflect it in and that was clearly not a natural movement
Cant believe that anyone can suggest its not handball.

My concern with your posts and the original commentators points is that you are calling him a cheat and that it was deliberate- No it wasn't deliberate and that is clear as day!
He lowered his head to try and get to the the ball- how can he do that without the rest of his body following. Stop expecting the worst.

Be interesting if thu actually were prem class. Celtic feed off Championship players
Also what Championship players do Celtic feed off of? Or do you class signing a couple of players from the Championship in the last few years "feeding off of"
Celtic signed Derk Boerrigter from Ajax and Virgil Van Dijk from Groningen in the Summer, do we feed off the Eredivise as well then?
I can't speak for other clubs but as for Celtic they "feed off" players they can afford and fit into their business model, if those players come from Europe, Africa or even the Championship then so be it, they'll never be able to rely on the riches of the Premier League so identify affordable targets, if that means signing overrated dross like Kelvin Wilson then punting him fir £3m 2 years later then so be it.
I'd love to hear about this so called arrogance though, us it because they're often touted to join the EPL? I've never heard 1 fan say we should be in it, I've heard many say they'd welcome but not one say they should be in it, however if the possibility did arise then its nieve to think either club would start at the very bottom, if it did happen it would only be because they were invited to join, the bosses of English Football would have to soften the blow of losing out on Champions League money and all yhe glitz and glamour that comes with being associated with it. So say they should start at the very bottom might be morally correct but simply not logical.
Celtic have made in roads into English Football though, check out Carlisle based club Celtic Nation

And Liverpool go 1-3 up. Top 4 a growing possibility, perhaps?

Don't even care it was a rubbish match, we didn't even have to play that well to beat them today, they were awful. First half was exactly how we should play, pushing high up the pitch and forcing errors.

It's the English premier league. I'm not sure what part of that is hard to understand. It's bad enough we have 2 welsh clubs in the league without letting these 2 hatred spewing clubs join too.
