Attitude much better this half, everything being done more quickly and less sloppy moments.
Great finish from januzaj.
Must say Rooney has been atrocious today.

Poor defending for both goals, Sunderland have twice allowed him loads of space in the box and twice been punished. Really not good enough at this level.

He'd still be earning less than most of the first team squad.
Got to pay him the going rate if he is good enough to be playing in the first team, just hope he is a sensible lad.

I reckon he may do a Ricky Sbragia for the remainder of this season. I wonder if he has designs on management anyway?mystiroakey wrote:TBH though I think sunderland should stick with Ball, sunderland have looked a totally different outfit since he took over

You have a player on 2 goals and clearly is single handedly dragging Utd through the game and causing the Sunderland team problems.
Best take him off then.

If a player clearly is causing the opposition trouble and is in the zone why replace him? Utd immediately then looked troubled again and it allowed Sunderland to throw more at Utd as they weren't as worried about the counter.

I didn't watch it but would you guys say that this is the moment Januzaj finally arrived as a United player?

Re: Barclays Premier League 13/14 Thread
It quite easily could be a pivotal moment certainly not just for him but for Moyes and the club as it gives them a figure to get behind.
Until he leaves on a free in January to City.

You'd hope - as a football fan - he'd stay. He'd probably get lost in the system at City.

Zaha can't get in the squad, never mind get a game or score a goal.
Januzaj should be on 70k given what Zaha is on.

Sunderland are now sitting 6 points behind 17th already. Not the most attractive looking job going I must say.
Swansea away next and then the north east derby. A long hard slog awaits.

Job done for United in the end but it was very laboured. Positives for Sunderland, looked up for it

Re: Barclays Premier League 13/14 Thread
United were shocking, bailed out by an 18 year old who basically holds all the cards now, especially after that performance. Cleverley offers nothing, absolutely nothing. Defending is poor, Vidic is showing further decline too. Huge save from De Gea, which ultimately proved crucial before HT. United don't look great, Moyes shouldn't get carried away, it's against Sunderland.

Re: Barclays Premier League 13/14 Thread
Yeah it was shocking, just relieved to get a win- I have to question moyes and the preparation - for 20 minutes we played with the appropriate tempo, pace and tenacity and were able to get 2 goals and get into good situations. For the other 70 minutes Sunderland were the better side and could easily have had 4 goals, couldn't have complained if they had won.

Myriad reasons. Tactics and physical aspects being clear favourites.Hero wrote:If a player clearly is causing the opposition trouble and is in the zone why replace him? It's nice to see the media doing their usual trick of trying to destroy England players confidence. Every year a new player this year seemingly Hart.

Physically I get, he may have been flagging after his first full Premier League game although from I could see he had more energy than anyone around him.
Tactically? A tentative 2-1 lead where you're desperate for the points not only to rise into the top half of the table but to avert a potential crisis and you take off the one person who's most likely to cement the victory, instead by removing him it allowed Sunderland to get back into the game and nearly get an equalizer. Tactically you'd take RVP off who wasn't in the best form, add another midfielder in to shore the centre of the pitch up and use Januzaj and Valencia to hit on the break when Sunderland have to throw men forward thus exposing gaps.

Re: Barclays Premier League 13/14 Thread
England want Januzaj to play for them, and have already registered their interest according to Moyes. Our left wing troubles, and I'm not talking about the Labour party, solved perhaps? Although it's pretty unlikely I would imagine.
I'd also like to retract my earlier comment about Januzaj being a cheating scumbag. He's too damn cute to be called that. And he did look fairly guilty after he dived.

And the second bit is why I find it unlikely. Mind you, he can (according to wikipedia) choose to represent one of six countries, so he has quite a choice!

Actually scrap all of that. According to the Mail, Januzaj wants to play for Albania, and he's not eligible for England until early 2018.
It should just remain a nice idea.

Fair play to the lad on that if it's true, would be only too easy to choose Belgium at this point in time, would assume then he considers himself Albanian and not Belgian?Hero wrote:Correct, he wants to play for Albania over Belgium, he was born in Belgium but his family are Albanian.Dolphin Ziggler wrote:I'm sure I read that he was declining Belgium due to his Albanian ties.

Hardly, from the perspective of the person rather than one of someone from England then Belgium currently looks a much more attractive option than England, currently 6th in the rankings compared to 17th, possibly the strongest set of players ever to emerge from the country and in depth as well in comparison to a continued dirth of talent emerging from England.mystiroakey wrote:There is just so much wrong with that comment..GSC wrote:It's alright to dive when he rescues your team then.

Though neither looks the decision from the player as he's gone with his heart.
