Hero he isn't english- he would clearly never ever choose england.
You should only ever choose where your heart lies IMO.

But if i was belgium i would be gutted to lose out on this talent.
Belgium are a good team- but many of there players are becoming overrated (like english) beyond there actual talent. Fellaini is a perfect example of that.. Losing out on this real talent isnt a good thing for them

It means something at the moment, the seeding draw for the World Cup is being based on the October rankings.

And a number of players choose country of residency as the national side over parentage or country of birth. John Barnes by example only moved to England at the age of 12.

Re: Barclays Premier League 13/14 Thread
which is fine, from 12 years old is a perfectly reasonable age - Thats when your mind develops and you start learning. In Fact choosing the birth nation over that is wrong imo. Because the country you live at post 12 is the one that has created you. As i stated if i was a belgian i would be gutted.Hero wrote:And a number of players choose country of residency as the national side over parentage or country of birth. that wasn't the point being made..Hero wrote:It means something at the moment, the seeding draw for the World Cup is being based on the October rankings.
The point is that England will never win. if they are ranked high. The rankings suck. If they are ranked low they suck!

Shouldn't we all calm down about Januzaj? He's had one decent gane against a team managerless, and bottom of the league. Calm down.
And yes Mysti, that's exactly how the rankings work. If England are high, the rankings are rubbish. If England are low, the rankings are a beacon of truth. The same goes for every sport to be honest, not just football. If England win, it's because the opposition played poorly, or weren't at full strength. England never play well - one of the facts of sport.

Can't believe this debate on an 18 year old from Belgium/Albania or whatever. One game & he's the saviour for a nation. Two goals against Sunderland and desperate Roy is on the phone. Embarrassing. I remember sterling have a good game n suddenly was the next big thing, then reality hit. Not denying the kid is talented but cmon, its Sunderland. This season has been ridiculous for people getting carried away, never seen it so bad. Two weeks ago Liverpool were world beaters, then they lost to Southampton, now it's arsenal. Oh yeah, SAS is the greatest partnership ever because of goals against championship standard palace.....embarrassing. Just wait for the season to actually unfold, judge in February/march when the real title challengers emerge. Its a marathon not a two month sprint.

6 Months of 'This is our year' and 'Its gonna be like 1966 all over again' before losing on penalties to someone
Hodgson will get the blame for Brazil 2014 by the fans and press. 'Arry should have got the job' and all that
My English mate is always the same. Never says 'England are there. Lets just hope we do our best and enjoy it'
Always 'England are gonna win it' and then when they dont (which is no shame) he always wants the manager out or the captaincy was wrong etc before resorting to the usual English football comfort of 'Ah well at least we are still better than Scotland and Wales'

as a united fan i dont want adnan to choose england, many a good player ruined by the over-hyping British media and all the other crap that surrounds the English national team.
look at wilshere for example, held up to be englands leading star and going to carry us the next world cup. yet isnt even second best midfielder in the arsenal team. look at carzola who's better than wilshere, he cant get any where near the a spanish starting spot. that's how much we are behind

Actually the whole bit about rankings make sense. When England are ranked high the rankings are wrong and when they're ranked low they are correct.
Because England aren't particularly good

Lovely work in midfield by the aforementioned Fer, also noticing that the ref appears to be a Norwich fan.

Great play by Norwich. Snodrgass what an idiot a load of time there and he plays a stupid pass to Pilkington and his efforts to get a penalty there was laughable.

I feel quite, quite lucky. Had backed Chelsea to win by 2 goal or more at 1-0 in the first half. Then I put money on Chelsea when Norwich equalised. Completely thought it was all gone.
Now Defoe to score is free money

Re: Barclays Premier League 13/14 Thread
Norwich should have won that. Were much better for swathes of the game, but made the mistake of playing the name, and not the team that were on the pitch. Chelsea were there for the taking, and 3-1 quite flattered them in the end.
On a side-note, Souness wrote in the Sunday Times that England should drop Hart for Ruddy on Friday. Well not after that shambles of a goalkeeping display!
