100% Pete. west country rugby is pretty confrontational. backs only see when the forwards deem it fit to be released.
I actually quite like watching Saracens. Gloucesters recent transition to running rugby is exciting but i do miss the forward orientated days.
The weather in NZ for the WC may actually suit old style rugby

I go to quite a few wooden spoon and other kinds of Dinners. leonard is a regular there and is a top bloke all round. Great player as well. Don't get those caps without being seriously good

Can't believe you almost got £12m for Mathie - would have been the best piece of business all year!
I'm trying to get rid of one on my 9s at the moment, but not sure who - got Charlie Davies, Sam Harrison, Stuart Commins all of whom could become very good club players - but only Commins is getting any sign of first team rugby atm

Yeh go on then, deal
Finished the season well I thought. Dynamite in that game against Saints that they lost in the end. Could be a good signing for Sale.

Re: Saracens Rugby Football Club
I must admit I've seriously cut down this season with living away. Missus allows me 2/3 games a weekend so it's usually an AP, T14 and S15 game...mixed with the odd Friday night Magners. Some comedown from last where I watched Currie Cup and Itm too.
Caught Stormers twice I think and haven't noticed Elstadt, was earlier in the season though. Think I've seen Highlanders, Blues and Chiefs about 50 times though! They seriously need to mix the matches up a little, I miss the review show.

They have some serious second rowers though. When you think Sykes, Hargreaves etc are nowhere near a shirt. Flip has been groomed for that 4 shirt for years with the Bulls and SA and he'll take some shifting....just actually thinks he Bakkies with the late hits and roughing up though.
Bakkies is def on the decline though, have noticed it this season. Be a great battle post WC....my money is on Flip

Re: Saracens Rugby Football Club
Elstadt is great and much better than flip already. Since the bulls have hit form bakkies has been immense and is peaking at right time.
He is in most super 15 teams of the week recently.
Give it 2 years and elstadt will be one of the best. Wanted
To go for him but need a hooker more. Also have Richie grey and robson as back up to palmer roussouw and bakkies so
Made no sense

Re: Saracens Rugby Football Club
See what your saying but there a bit of difference in standard to a straight swap mate. 36 has about 10 games under his belt and Ojo is top English try scorer and England Int.
I def won't be going that deal but would negotiate something on it.

Re: Saracens Rugby Football Club
2 more England caps that 36 lol. Not arguing mate, Ojo has been crippled by injuries you know that. He's the top English try scorer in the AP and 36 is second choice behind Allen.
I really don't see how they are at a similar level. Benjamin is at a similar level to 36.

Mears + Golding 4 Corbsiero
If not Mears needs English
Beattie + Mears 4 BDP + ????
Allen needs good English, planning to start him
Fourie not leaving to you because I don't see anyone capable of replacing him
Van der Heever, I'm not really sure what to suggest

He was solid against dire opposition, as were most. We need testing really, that kind of game shows nothing.
Not interested in either of those mate sorry. Maybe something with Mullen?

Re: Saracens Rugby Football Club
I think we need to sort the budgets out, Chris has spent about 50m on champ players!
I'd expect a 12 to be able to pass lol. No probs mate, I'll keep hold of Benjamin. 36 looks promising but needs to get past Allen to progress.

Re: Saracens Rugby Football Club
Wouldnt want to sell Wray mate, coached him at my club Westcliff when he was coming through the ranks.
Also Tincknell is about 6 months away from playing again, at the earliest - if he ever comes back after the car crash he had, I've kept him in my squad as didnt want to get rid of a player before he either comes back or retires. Hope its the former, cracking talent.

Elstadt?
would you do barkley or 36 in a deal for him? Preferably 36
Could add Hamilton in to swing it for 36. Real life link up in the lineout there for Glaws and Scotland...

Re: Saracens Rugby Football Club
Very good move for Nevin Spence, best young 13 around alongside Tuilagi - and in my opinion that is in world rugby. Spence will replace BOD, and can see a move to Munster on Leinster on the cards in the next year or two. Has a great all round game, be interesting to see what people on here make of him though, as not sure how many people will know his game that well.
I'm a big fan of British rugby, as opposed to French or s15, so try to keep up with all the good youngsters coming through, and he's easily one of the best - I'm umming and arring about going for another youngster in next window, but not sure whether I should because the average age of my squad is pretty young as it is!
Recommend keeping an eye out for Liam Gill v David Pocock this weekend, Gill is 18 and looks absolute quality - he had to leave the Aussie u20 camp this week beacuse of an injury to another Reds player, which could be the difference between England making the final or not!

Re: Saracens Rugby Football Club
Agree with Chris, good player Spence. Got a good bunch of centres coming through, think Spence is ahead of Manu in terms of all round game myself but it might be a while before he breaks into Ireland with Earls looking destined for the 13 shirt.
I'm not sure about McFadden, looks decent but he's 25 or so already and stuck behind D'Arcy still. He might find somebody else comes through, see Spence as the better prospect.

Re: Saracens Rugby Football Club
Spence and Tuilagi could develop into one of the best midfield tussles over the next 10-12 years, watched them play against each other twice and there were some massive hits by both of them!
There's the potential that Elliot Daly at Wasps could surpass them both, I havent seen a talent like his in years and years, has everything in his game and should break through into the Wasps first team this year, either at fb or wg.
Will you be watching the u20 WC?
