What a tense final drive but the defense come good at the right time
In other news ive one at least £80 as I had money on both denver and seattle at the beginning of the season

So the two teams in the playoffs I least want in the Super Bowl are in the Super Bowl. Surprised the 49ers didn't try atleast one run play at the end.

A lot of fuss about Sherman's post game comments. Not bothered myself about a reaction like that. What does the media expect when they shove a microphone in an athlete's face straight after a game/ performance other that adrenaline and passion?

Yeah not sure I could stomach a Manning love in win, or a drugged up Seattle win.
Think Seattle will win annyways, that defence might be too much for Manning and co to overcome. Can cover man to man, and have one serious pass rush. But Denver's D should stop Lynch, just whether Wilson can make enough plays or not

He's utter trash. He's supposed to be a professional athlete. Disgraceful.

I've got no problem with what he said. But, you don't watch hockey do you? A lot more composure in the heat of winning a big playoff round.

Shermans earned the right to talk. He just won the NFCCG. If Crabtree didn't like it he should've shut him up on the field

As I said yesterday, full credit to Denver and hope they beat the Seahawks.
But having seen it again, that hit by Welker on Talib was sick and more than a bit cynical.

Also, feel so bad for Navarro Bowman. Best LB in the NFL, and he made one hell of a play when he got injured, just a blown call by the refs.
Really hope he can come back at the same level next year

There's talking and then there's screaming down the camera like he did. No class. Didn't see any Denver players do anything like that.

After the game, Sherman then verbally went after Crabtree in an interview with sideline reporter Erin Andrews.
"I'm the best corner in the game. When you try me with a sorry receiver like Crabtree, that is the result you are going to get. Don't you ever talk about me," Sherman shouted.
Andrews then asked, "Who was talking about you?"
"Crabtree. Don't you open your mouth about the best, or I'm going to shut it for you really quick," Sherman screamed.

That's how NFL players are though. They play emotional. He just won the NFCCG for crying out loud. Sherman might not be the best sport ever but I don't see what he did wrong

Be interesting the contracts Kaepernick and Newton get. Kaepernick might resolve for a Flacco/Cutler type year

No. That's how Sherman is. Just because he can't handle his emotions doesn't excuse him from that classless outburst. Didn't see any other players completely avoid the question asked to them and just scream nonsense at the interviewer in an aggressive manner.

Whenever Sherman opens his mouth people want to get on him for trash talking or being classless.
Pr4wn has a point, Crabtree loves to run his mouth as well, Sherman won. To the victor go the spoils and all that.

You also can't discount the big game experience of Peyton and the Broncos. Saw it last year, the 49ers stuttered out the gate while the Ravens started fast.

True but if its snowing, I ain't gonna trust Peyton to fling it especially against that secondary although I reckon Denver could run it well on Seattle (their o line in the run game is immense)

Please, please, please don't let the Hawks win this one. Sherman seriously needs a solid dose of humility and I hope he gets it from one of the best there has been in Manning.
I could ignore the guy if his rant was just against Crabtree. They play often, don't like each other and he won that game so he earned the right to have the last word. But past stuff like trash talking Brady, Revis, Calvin Johnson? Guy has too much to say to people that are more talented.

I'm just waiting for the day he doesn't, like everyone else. People that put themselves on that pedestal and rub people the wrong way have a very long and uncomfortable fall.
I was going to watch the game on game pass tonight but of all people my sister spoiled the result. Now I know the Hawks win I can't bear to watch it. I don't even have this irrational hatred in football (soccer), which I've followed all my life...

Colin Kaepernick played well for 3 quarters. But he just can't make those turnovers in the 4th quarter of the NFCCG. The Chancellor INT was just a horrible throw.

Welker was pretty fired up for that game yesterday, you could see it when he made a catch for what he thought was a first down before a holding call.
He stayed pretty quiet all week but it looked like a guy that had an axe to grind with the Patriots.

I'd have to see the play again, but Talib went out with a knee injury, so I'm a little suspicious even though Welker is a little dude
Of course hes got an axe to grind with us. But at the end of the day Edelman replaced his production, at much less cost. Even Amendola ended up with alright numbers considering he's injured all the goddamn time

Yeah but didn't Amendola get offered more than they offered Welker?
Edelman has had a good year though, perhaps because he's pretty much the last receiver standing though.

Edelman may have been last man standing, but he's a good receiver. Think he is a free agent this summer, be interesting to see if he stays or goes

Amendola got a longer contract, would've been about the same pay.
Edelman has always shown flashes right back to his rookie year, he even moved near to Brady to just play catch with him when he wanted! Injuries were his issue over the past two years especially. He's what they call #sneakyathletic
And yeah Belichick and Welker do not like each other, pretty much as strong as it gets from Bill.

Re: Ongoing NFL Discussion Thread V
I think Edelman would be nuts to leave the Pats at the moment. Or they'd be nuts to let him walk. I suppose it depends on how much money a 105 catch season gets a small slot receiver these days - if Welker is an indication then it might not be all that much from the Pats.
Is it just me, or is sneaky athletic just something commentators call white guys that can run and cut a little?

Re: Ongoing NFL Discussion Thread V
I'm more confident we'll re-sign Talib than Edelman, although I don't think we'll offer either huge amounts. Priority this off season has to be getting Brady more weapons, we need to start viewing Gronk as an addition to the offence, not a kept part as he's just injured too often. Need a #1 receiver, another TE and help on the interior o-line. Then draft a LB to replace Spikes (who will almost certainly go), and try to find a pass rusher opposite Jones and hope the rest return healthy.
Just hope this off season is more low key than last!!

My early prediction for the Super Bowl is the Seahawks. I just think the Seahawks defence is more closely matched to the Broncos offence than the Broncos defence is to the Seahawks offence.
Plus New York is likely to be very cold and poor old Peyton doesn't like it very cold.

He has lost 63% of games in very cold weather.
The last few times the two Super Bowl teams have met in that year's preseason the same team won both games. Seahawks beat the Broncos in preseason.

I don't think it's the cold that affects Manning, the wind does.
But if it's snowy and windy, there ain't gonna be much throwing of the ball

Really? You're going off preseason?
Peyton Manning in 4 cold-weather games with Broncos:12 TDs, 3 INTs, 101.4 rating, 2-2 record. 2 losses: 38-35 in 2 OT; 34-31, OT.
