The Culture Cup round 6
First topic message reminder :
I'm not really a London person. Occasionally Putney or Clapham to see mates or Lords for the cricket.
If Georgian food is anything like Estonian fayre I may give it a miss.
Galted wrote:seanmichaels wrote:Galted wrote:Decided to treat myself to a 3-piece variety meal but the Wrap-It-Up is between work & the KFC so you can probably imagine what happened.
Your Hi-Techs started to squeek?
Probably but I was too hungry to notice. Almost broke into a run as I approached the Wrap-It-Up.
Have you ever been to Tamada by the way? Georgian restaurant off Abbey Road. Went there for my birthday and found no reason to complain.

I've got a really bad feeling about this.
At least if he cuts his hands off, it might limit his drinking in the future.
Was thinking that we should chip in and get him a bb gun so he could shoot a few cats for Big Garden Birdwatch but he'd only put his eyes out.

Sorry Sean that is two rather cruel digs at you today, both completely unjustified. Rest assured I will spend the rest of my day mocking galted for his dress sense or Tina for getting beat up by children and leave you well alone.

Why don't you start on Julius for being exceptionally old, superfly for deep frying his cornflakes or rick for using the word 'dangnammit' in a post.
There are other targets you know.

Can't believe no one mentioned the impact that a lost hand would have on sean's love life.
Although, I suspect he's a frequent user of the partly inflated arm-band and liberal amounts of vaseline technique. That and bag-piping unsuspecting pensioners.

No worries. In the absence of having children I wouldn't particularly mind being an amputee. It would mean I'd be able to park within half a mile of Tesco or any other supermarket chain.

I can't start on Julius as he is too quick for me, basically I would lose and nobody enjoys that. Rick is not on here regularly enough, but rest assured if I see use of the word dangnammit from him I will treat it with the contempt it deserves.
As for superfly I quite like him. He has good taste in music and uses his time on the boxing board to generally mock and annoy strongy, which is a valuable and worthy contribution.

There's nothing wrong with my dress sense (apart from two cream fleeces and a brown T-shirt that says "get your coat, love, you've pulled" beneath a picture of a coat hanger). The shirt doesn't even count as dress sense as it was given to me and I don't wear it except for indoor exercise.

That reminds me that there was a "beneath my paygrade" comment from Strongy that I meant to wind him up about. I was working on a theme around the going rate for tarmaccing drives.

What is wrong with that? I used to occasionally wear a T-Shirt out that said 'I don't do mingers!'. Always brought a wry smile to my face when I woke up in the morning with a unit lying next to me.

Gore-Text, Hi Tec and a "comedy" T Shirt. Can only be a matter of time before the GQ special.

At least "I don't do mingers" is funny, a bit like "no fat chicks". "Get your coat" is the kind that downies or ayslum seekers end up wearing as charity because they don't know better.

It's predominantly the Wolfskin these days which would adequately cover any embarrassing T-shirt. You may laugh but I think I'd spark a few trends if I were featured in GQ.

Just had a quick check and appears to fit the "waterproof but breathable" tag, might try it after the Wolfskin. Is that the one you got for Xmas?

Yep. They hang by their back legs and then time it so they get the bat when it comes in to land.
They kill and eat snakes, superfly. Snakes!
They caused a human beings leg to fall off in Indonesia. A leg!

In Indonesia? That's a hell of a trick from Peru.
Who wins a "square go" between a giant centipede and a honey badger? My money's on the honey badger all the way.

It wasn't a scolopendra, just a bog standard Indonesian centipede. A leg! Fell off!
The badger would win easily.
Not sure what point you are making here. Wlad Klitschko would crush Ricardo Lopez, but I know who is the better fighter.

I had a stand-off in the Kruger Park with a honey badger one early morning a few years ago. It was rootling around when I disturbed it and stopped to look at me. Eventually it sauntered off but I was ready to combine p1ssing myself and legging it if it had taken a step toward me.

Just thinking that the centipede has clearly got ideas above its station and is walking around like "Barry Big Balls" taking pot shots at inferior fighters at higher weights, but it won't attack a honey badger. Too worried about its legacy?
At least Lopez had some humility at fought at "f**k all" weight for his whole career.

See! Even Galted knows the limits of his hi-tecs. Wouldn't think twice about stamping on a centipede but apparently one sight of a honey badger has him soiling himself.
