No Lee Cattermole.

Presumably he's on a pay as you play contract and will be paid monthly

Well, i think we have more chance of playing pick up sticks with our butt cheeks, than getting anyone in, in the next few hours.

From BBC - 'As if today hadn't been quiet enough for Newcastle fans, we can rub a bit of salt into the wounds with the news that former midfielder Yohan Cabaye has been named on the bench for new club Paris St-Germain tonight, with the French champions facing Bordeaux this evening.

They didn't even need him...'

Looks like Wenger has pressed the panic button again, Kallstrom, Kalou and Klose, looks like he opened up a list of all the players and randomly pointed at K.

Hes useful cover for Wilshere and Ramsey and has top level experience.

Kalou and Klose similarly fall under the line of cover with experience. Fairly obvious Wenger only wanted to fill out his squad unless he could sign genuine young quality like Draxler. Not quite sure how thats panicking frankly.

Kallstrom, oh well, it makes sense from the fact that Arsenal are suffering from a string of injuries and suspension in the midfield. To the point that Ox is playing as a box to box central mid and Gnabry an albeit talented 18 year old is fixed out right. Flamini suspended, Ramsey out 4-6 weeks, Wilshere a week or two more, Rosicky has a broken nose that is effecting his running and breathing. Still certainly not a game changing signing by any stretch of the imagination. If we got Klose though I would say it is a good window. He can give you cover for the rest of the year till you find a world beater next season and it wouldn't disturb Giroud's development and he has some german buddies that would help him adjust. Although I think Kallstrom most likely will be it.

Any deal for a player from one of the bigger eastern european teams is difficult on deadline day.

Quite frustrated that we've not made any attempt to remedy our central midfield problems something which Kroos would have solved.

Olly, Kroos has played in an advanced midfield position but he's been at his best in a more withdrawn position in front of the back four. I get the impression he's not appreciated Pep using him further up top, got to ask who does start for Germany in midfield they're loaded in those positions.

Apparently, we've sent out the message to every EPL club, that Cisse is available. Cisse playing for Arsenal would be horrible. Cisse has no target man ability, can't lay it off to anyone & couldn't hit a barn door currently.

What a poor end to the window today was. Have Liverpool failed with Konoplyanka? Not great for Liverpool to fail to get a number of players this window. Nothing from Newcastle, nothing from Norwich for Olly.......what a disappointment.

At least Berbatov has a new home.

So many loan deals kill the excitement of deadline day.

Is it just me that thinks Konoplyanka isn't quite the standard of player that Liverpool require, seems to me to be a good player but not an outstanding one.

January signings always hard to judge, people thought QPR were sure fires to stay up after Jan last year. The new players can't afford slow starts at some of these clubs, lots of pressure

Dunno how long he's out for tbh. But you don't sign 3-4 players to cover 1 injury. Fernandes needs to be careful Harry doesn't lead him down the Bournemouth/Southampton/Portsmouth route

If you spend money, you need to deliver IMO. If you don't its failure. Much like Leciester's last 2 seasons.

At the same time only 3 teams can go up each season. And 1 via the lottery of the playoffs. Yes money raises expectations but spending is no guarantee of success.

Maiga confirmed, Harry's 4th striker of the window

Can someone explain to me why Liverpool were prepared to splash on this Konoplonker bloke at like £16m yet not Salah when he was obviously their main target?

Cardiff sell Cornelius back to Copenhagen. Disastrous is probably a compliment for that signing

I think Rodgers and Wenger both had primary targets, when they failed they panicked, kind of the opposite of what Moyes did. Must have been tempting to make a bid or two but he resisted the urge knowing that his mains targets weren't available and may be in the Summer. Failing to sign one player and moving on to the next one barely works just look at Tottenham with Willian and Lamela.

It's kind of frustrating only bringing in Mata but at least we didn't waste another £27mil on a Fellaini.
