The Culture Cup round 6
First topic message reminder :
Happily, the first Spice Girls Single not to go to Number 1 was Stop, it was kept off top spot by Run DMC vs Jason Nevins - It's Like That.
seanmichaels wrote:Rowley wrote:seanmichaels wrote:Rowley wrote:JuliusHMarx wrote:I think I'll upset Jeff now and say that Blackberry Way is a better song than Waterloo Sunset.
Why would the fact you're a moron upset me?
As an aside though another Move song, Flowers in the Rain was the first song ever played on Radio One.
That could and should have been posted on me remarkably unpopular Music anecdotes thread....
Sean, if the thread had been called useless music trivia it almost certainly would have been. I have any number of such facts I could amaze you good people with.
Hit me.

Plans for the weekend other than getting your end away with a blistered JohnThomas?
Heading westwards myself. Watching the rugby with the old man then staying at some gastropub sunday night.

Going to see Inside Llewyn Davies tonight, the rest of the weekend hasn't yet been decided for me. Doubt I'll get to watch any rugby, will have to make do with the iplayer on Monday.

Inside Llewyn Davis follows a week in the life of a young folk singer as he navigates the Greenwich Village folk scene of 1961..........

It's by the Coen brothers though, they rarely do anything substandard.

I've heard of them. My film taste (other than certain war films) would depress you.

Never fear, cider-affected behaviour, circular saws and the Down's community are more interesting than film reviews.

Picked up an 8 pack (500ml cans) of Orangieboom at lunch. Kind of a friday night treat when I have enough bunce. Home alone and the only thing stopping the perfect night is that I've run out of logs. May take the rat route home and see if the storm damage has left anything.....

As the top article in the Off Topic section is a TRUSSMAN one about arguing, then you have a great chance to do so Jeff

Its because of tino, we await his first post before being jovial - just in case he's tried tough love and been murdered for it.
Re: The Culture Cup round 6
Yep, a post from tino is the pick-me-up we all need. Could be a long, dismal day if he's not around.

He does not tend to be around too much on a Monday, think he is sleeping off the weekends cocaine and general excess his City Boy types get up to.

I've created a rumour that he has to report to his local police station every Monday. It's not my place to speculate as to why this is.

Be strong Jules, you never know he may be working on the music cup he threatened to start this year. Should this be the case, and it almost certainly is, his absence will be worth it.

Something simple and inexpensive from his work canteen with perhaps, an unpretentious bag of crisps or a type of chocolate treat. He wasn't one for flamboyance during the lunch hour was our Tino.

Pretty annoyed with everyone on here. I can't see the emoticons at work and have just realised that I've been using the stupid giggling one when I wanted to use the howling with laughter one .
Thanks, guys. Pity there isn't one for a pack of c*nts.

One of the missus's Christmas presents was a night (sunday) in a B&B / Gastropub towards the west country. Very pleasant and the people who ran the place were astonishingly friendly and good at what they do. You would have loved it Jeff, the room had a lovely freestanding cast iron tub with a selection of homemade bath salts. Had pigeon as a starter for the first time but took care to ensure it wasn't one of yours prior to ordering.

Yep, I'm back from the edge, your kind words have been just as inspiring as the return of michaels, just had a big cup of peppermint tea to celebrate. I wonder is Tino is really Philip Seymour Hoffman.

Sounds lovely Sean. Me and the missus went to Claridges for our fifth anniversary some years ago. I had pigeon there, not a huge fan to be honest, but wanted to try something different and you don’t see pigeon on too many menus in Rotherham.

Is an interesting theory Galted. Given Tina’s ongoing and unrelenting hatred of Hugh Jackman him being involved in the film industry is not impossible. Would also explain his obscene wealth and raging drug habit. However I do have to wonder would Hoffman hate Jackman? Struggle to imagine he was a rival for the role of Wolverine.

The very fact that he wasn't a rival is what may have driven him to hate Jackman.
