Wales tour of SA
First topic message reminder :
Halfpenny is out and recent news (unknown to me) is stating that Warburton will now also miss out due to a dislocated shoulder. It doesn't look good for us going to SA without these two and with our recent away form being so bad. Personally I think it would be a good idea if we had a midweek game before the first test against a SA Provincial team, using the majority of our first team.
Who would you like to see on the plane?

Menacing stuff...brutally physical
yeah we arent ready for SA just yet. After England and Oz/ Argie we will be though. We get a good draw that way. On paper this bok side is massive. Looks like theyve realised that onto the field well enough.

Okay - sifting through wreckage (already). Surely Gareth Davies has to take Mike Phillips place. Cuthbert has to be dropped until he can find some form again. It can't get any worse - tempted to just play entire team of next gen for 2nd test to see who stands out.

Agree, Jordan Williams on the wing, Davies at FH, Ball for Charteris, Turnball for Lydiate and I would consider starting Morgan or Hook at FB over Williams

Apparently Lions hangover is to blame... Great pity for teams from the isles. If they tour next year, they have an eye on the word cup, the year after they have world cup hangover, the following year is a Lions tour, and the year after is a Lions hangover...
Easiest thing in the world, failure, especially when you keep having reasonable an excuse.

Why on earth do we play our best rugby at 65 minutes when 29pts down?

Seriously, every time we have kicked the ball something bad happens. That is the 3rd time JD2 has just kicked into the SA players

Some of these boks would have met Victoria too. Way too much experience in this side for Wales to handle. Only way to beat this side is to run them ragged.
Good try Cuthbert.

Good try Cuthbert.
its not like wales lack experience either, North has 40 odd caps
it is just ridiculously poor and that try covers some of the cracks, the scoreline is far to close in terms of reflecting this match and SA dominance

Seems to happens quite often when I type from the mobile. Normally delete the second one sharpish, but this thread is too fast to cover up such errors.

He isn't a great tackler, that is a weakness in his game. However his strengths massively outweigh his weakness.

Never thought much of Morgan as a 10, very electric, but no overall control - as a 15 however, he has been very good over the last few weeks.
I think Gatland could well start him next week

Fair play - good try from Cuthbert - but who the hell cares now!
We should probably pick Morgan next week - the saffers have to bend down to tackle him!

Very sloppy match by SA, they will need to buck up if they want to compete in the RC

should and i would move l williams to wing if he stays in side at all, so much for roberts/davies centres, no intensity anywhere except from davies and morgan who set a target, no line speed, no physicality in contact, utter defeat in tackle area, no tactical kicking game, time to shake it up radically no tonly in the team but upstairs too

Only when we actually decide to play rugby,
We were so focussed on getting a platform to unleash our backs and fronting up to the opposition we seemed to have forgotten the whole point was to use our centres and wingers - now we play 10 man rugby....badly.

Re: Wales tour of SA
why cant we defend like that when the game is in reach?
also big 6ft 2 mike phillips cant tackle vermeulan yet little 4ft 10 Morgan can?
Lets not kid ourselves though in the 2nd half, they had no need to do anything more, game was in the bag, and clearly they eased off
