Probably been our best player...are you joking Olly?! Perhaps on the basis no one else has been that good but other than that he hasn't done much.

He gave the ball away in the middle of the park twice...has made at least 3 poor passes...failed to convert his best chance yet again..and to be honest is not doing what a number 10 should be doing.

If Roy sees what you see then we have our explanation as to why he continues to persist with him.

Nachos is right....why should Rooney be accomodated by a player who had produced the best performance on the park the other night. Godin is asking to be sent off and has struggled with Sterling and Sturridge....i.e. pace...we should have someone in that gap frightening the center backs to death ideally...but if your not going to play Sterling at 10 play Lambert...who scored just as many goals from open play as Rooney last year and had more assists because he has better vision and technical ability!

Oh and by the way Ollie....if you watch Rooney actually checked his run slightly. Had he not I think he would have got to the ball bit sooner and made better connection. Not sure just his height was the reason.

Fancy leaving Huddlestone at home. Unbelievable omission. Game's crying out for him.

Don't get me wrong, I am not blaming Rooney for this England performance. I honestly feel that many, including the England team, seriously under estimated Uruguay or over estimated England's team...

Roy has yet to get up from his seat.

Where is the aggression?

Rooney will never score at a world cup

300,000 a week and I bet you those who defend him say...'oh it was on his weaker foot'  Doh

I don't care what anyone say's that is two absolute guilt ridden chances Rooney has missed at this World Cup and I am of the belief even his header was a better than 50% chance!

he overran the header, it wasnt that it was too high

i barely follow club football any more, but can only imagine that the apologists for rooney's continuing failure to deliver on the highest stage have some kind of club loyalty.

World class players make a difference when it matters, shame we have none.

Stevie G has been poor, they all look tired.

Oh jesus! And some of you want Roy to continue to 2016...

Sterling may not have been as good as the other night but he has pace and has given the right back and center backs plenty to think about when running at them. He has won a number of fouls over on the right which has given us good set pieces.

What has Welbeck done...What has Gerrard done...!? Unbelievably stupid substitution.

The commentators are just as bad. Did Tyldsley really just say 'tremendous run' to Barkley running 30m sideways across the pitch?

That sub should have happened 10 minutes ago or even better at half time.

Sorry but England showed me nothing that suggests they are learning...nor did Roy. Encouraging signs yes...but ultimately same mistakes have cost us.

We don't press teams well enough (see Chile)...we play too narrow because of our insistence on playing non-natural wingers.

Dont get enough bodies in the box as shown there...

Now we have three natural number 10's on the pitch and no width..great tactics Roy!!Idiot!

Rooney shouldn't have been starting..Welbeck offers nothing...Johnson is terrible...Henderson and Gerrard in middle does not work!
