We Go Again! The 2014/15 Premier League Thread
First topic message reminder :
You're both quite awful, but I wouldn't rule anybody out of anything yet. Liverpool are THIRTEENTH and they are just five points off a CL spot (although, they might give up on it this year, so they can make a run for it next year). The teams are just all so close this season, u don't think it would have even cleared up by Christmas (except Chelsea winning the league, they should be coronated by then). Citeh are basically trying the Suárez trick with Agüero, and while it's working at the moment, I'd say with his injury track record, the one with the thunder thighs is not someone you want to base your entire season around. If Agüero's out, Citeh struggle (hell, with Agüero in they've made heavy weather). I'd back both Utd and Arsenal to make it, but If Southampton can make it out of December still top five, I think it begins to get interesting

Let's be honest. A half decent 30 minute cameo gains England recognition these days.
It's a yes from me.

This comment brought to you by the nonsense stereotype club. Next up: Sam Allardyce is a dinosaur (just smashed Swansea apart and play exactly the same percentage of short passes) ALL ABOARD

Could have been more if not for Schmichael.
2 wins in a row now.
Great stuff.Hutton is looking decent this season.
Cissokho on the other hand poor.
Hope Westwood gets back soon.
Midfield is still pretty poor.
Grealish looked ok when he came on.
Like to see more of him.
We turned a small corner, lets hope it continues.
Beat those Baggies next saturday.
7 goals in todays 2 games.
No snore fest there.
I did say Hutton had it in him earlier in the season. He stands up well in international football but is a bit of an enigma as in his pace is a great asset in supporting attacks or covering back but sometimes he gets lazy.
He has been in good form in fairness.
Still don't think he is a top fullback. Average.
But he is solid enough and holding his own.

Re: We Go Again! The 2014/15 Premier League Thread
Key to West Ham’s success was the number of options they had in attack. Central to everything was Andy Carroll, more than just a big man up top, but a link player and a talisman, who scored two with his head.
In this sort of form, Carroll looks an impossible player to defend against. West Ham in free flow, give him almost a free role, dropping deep or moving wide at times, anywhere he can find space and is not forced into a straight jumping match with a central defender. The result is that defences are pulled far and wide and the key for West Ham is to surround Carroll with players quick enough to fill the holes he leaves.
I love reading the Sunday Times.

If thats his competition then I doubt the man is shaking in his boots. Kane has looked lightweight in the Prem, Berahino has nothing to offer that Sturridge and Welbeck don't, Ings couldn't beat Dunne in a foot race yesterday. But least they're all under 6ft, thus technical devils

Very fine performance by Schmeichel. Reminds me of his dad - he doesn't worry too much about playing neatly from the back and is unconcerned if it doesn't look pretty, his total priority is to stop the ball hitting the net. The trouble for young Kasper is that he's a lion with donkeys in front of him.

So Swansea are as big as both then? (And what did spurs win genuinely can't remember?)

I hear the wilshere has had a setback. now out for over five months? true?
no point in even discussing this lad for england, you'd be better off starting now in finding a replacment for him. to further his career, he'll have to retire from english duty you feel, this run of injuries cant go on.

At this rate I may have to rethink my Arsenal 3rd prediction.
Not good news..
Could one of Southampton/west ham or the Toon take a CL spot?

Re: We Go Again! The 2014/15 Premier League Thread
I like Carroll, think he'd be a better option than Lambert. Berahino is still very raw, I've got no doubt he'll be an England international but he's still got a lot to learn--and as Dolph says is very similar in style to Welbeck and Sturridge, who if fit will get picked ahead of him.
Kane is playing really well for Spurs, not sure how long he will keep it up but he's certainly improved even from last season. I think Olly is just bitter cos Kane was Poopie at Norwich

Re: We Go Again! The 2014/15 Premier League Thread
Kane Could be the lumpy forward that may be the better plan b..
But I also like Carroll. However haven't we just had comments that England should forget about wilshire as he is injury prone(a player that has contributed in the league and international game ten times more than sick note Carroll? )

Herrera for mata is a change Id be thinking about if I was van gaal.
Not a game for mata this, too much intensity and we don't have a monopoly on the ball.

Fellaini is the problem.
Any defense is going to look crap if the centre midfielder keeps giving it away and allowing the opposition to attack an unprepared, unprotected defense.

Yet again he has committed himself, missed the tackle and allowed them right at our vulneravle defense.
He never shows for the ball and isn't good enough to do anything with it when he gets it.
He is the worst player I have ever seen represent United.
