Kane is still doing the biz... He will finish top scorer yet played less than 90 mins for the first ten.

You should qualify that by also saying Costa and Aguero have missed a lot of games too while Rooney has played largely in Midfield.

That is what I love about you John so reticent to give your opinion. I still hope he gets the hat-trick. He has been awesome since coming back from his leg injury.

Nice build up and goal for Newcastle, Cabella has been their best player Coquelin got schooled out on the right. 2-1, Arsenal can't make it easy.

Dominated second half, but we can't finish. Arsenal were very lucky to win today, midfield defensively were awful. Least we didn't allow Giroud to bag three, although Pardew's Palace have now leapfrogged us in the table

Wow, very fortunate to get all 3 points at Newcastle. Huge three points as Spurs and Southampton have won. Credit to Newcastle they dominated the second half.

Re: We Go Again! The 2014/15 Premier League Thread
I've just flicked over to look at the West Ham score for the first time tonight as I'm watching the Rugby. Am I surprised after just shy of an hour to see West Ham vs Sunderland a stale 0-0? A team that always draws 0-0 against a home side out of confidence. Good thing I threw a pound on this being a draw, a little bit of dough rolling through the door it seems by tonight.
Aaron Cresswell is a true talent. A real LB. Perfectly fits into West Ham's diamond. I wouldn't be surprised if his name is flooded in the papers soon towards a big club. The only problem for me is his inexperience and his defending. If he can make his defending side as good as what it is going forward, he will be a top class LB for me.
Harry Kane doing what all top strikers do again. Deserved his England call up. People say does he have the potential, will he be good enough on the International stage? The last question can only ever be an assumption currently, but England don't play every week, so its about who is in form and at what time. So Harry Kane might be a one season wonder, but at least he has been capped for England and we can see the basis he works off. Although, I don't think he will be as good next season. He won't get 29 goals next season. I think he will get 20 in all competitions (if Spurs make the Europa League...or even more). A lot of pressure on young shoulders next year with big expectations piled on him. There is no doubt in my mind currently that Kane won't be as good, but will still come away with a good return next season.

Having said that about this game, I'm looking forward to MOTD tonight. Spurs will obviously be entertaining along with Man City. Crystal Palace could be decent and Southampton always play attractive football and it will be good to watch. Villa and this game a little bit naff but I still think this could be a good night/Sunday morning as well.

Re: We Go Again! The 2014/15 Premier League Thread
I'd be surprised if Sterling leaves this summer, as I said earlier, the agent is putting pressure on Liverpool to pay what they want by waiting until the summer when he can leave but he still has a lot left on his contract and I can't see Liverpool settling for anything less than £40 million for him and if we got £50-60 million for Raheem Sterling I'd be pretty happy with that, provided its spent well.
I also think it's incredibly harsh to lump Sterling in with the likes of Wright-Phillips and Lennon, he is still only 20 and he's developing all the time and getting better all the time. He has played in multiple positions, this season alone he has played as a winger, a number 10, up front, left and right wing back and as a standard right back. Versatility like that in attacking positions and the trust Rodgers has in him is evidence that he is much more than the typical winger with no end product.
If you also look at somebody like Cristiano Ronaldo at the same age, he was playing similar amount of games but had a lot lower end product, but its about the raw talent and the rate of improvement. Its plateaued a bit now but Sterling in the last 18 months has improved rapidly and if he keeps his head down, which he seems to be doing, he can get even better. If you looked at his end product 18 months ago and then to now, you'll see it has been worked on and is much better and it will likely only get better.
If he does move to Manchester City, expect his career to stall terribly though, he won't play the same amount of games and I think he'll be lost in the shuffle of the side, most likely been shifted out wide and not given the same freedom he has in the Liverpool side. Not to mention that Rodgers has handled his development as a young player fantastically, he has rested him when he needed to be rested and remember at the start of last season he wasn't even in the team at all to stop him getting burn out and not to pressure on his shoulders.

To be fair, it's Leicester, one was a tap in, the other a scuffed shot that luckily deflected in & a penalty. Not the greatest hattrick I've seen. That second goal is typical of when your in form, everything goes your way.
As for Spurs defence, shocking. Roy, there is a reason Spurs let in so many goals, it's called those two shambolic full backs.

Di Maria to PSG for £30m with Cavani going to Old Trafford this summer to replace Falcao. Interesting, can see that unfolding.

I assume that's meant to be Di Maria & 30m to PSG
Wouldn't even pay £40m the way he's played this season so to ask for Cavani on top is a pisstake really considering Ibra will retire sooner then later why let a 40m forward go for a winger who's been poor.

That values cavani at 90 million or so.
Di Maria has had 2/3s of a bad season, in a new league, post world cup - but still the same player.
Cavani and cash seems more realistic.

If they do that then they're massively overpaying for Di Maria, can't see it happening personally. Especially as it looks like Ibrahimovic will be leaving in the summer.
