Summer Transfer Window Thread 15/16
First topic message reminder :
Now the season is over, the rumours begin!
Milner/Ings to Liverpool seems likely.
Benitez to Real Madrid, Bale staying.
Falcao is desperate to move to Chelsea.
Otamendi and Dani Alves to Manchester United.
Raheem Sterling to Arsenal
What else?

I wouldn't call Costa injury prone when Falcao is in the conversation.

Re: Summer Transfer Window Thread 15/16
Is Falcao injury prone or just coming off one big injury? I think Falcao can rediscover some form next year, he looked fine to me at United in terms of health, just clearly unfit through lack of games & basically phased out.
Must admit having Costa & Falcao is quite a strikeforce for Chelsea.

Falcao looks like a guy with a shot knee. I wouldn't touch him at his present salary until he proves its healthy again.

Injury prone and never getting fit is the same to me. Falcao didn't look the same player at all. If I was Remy I wouldn't be scared.

Shame about Falcao, really. But it wasn't exactly hard to forecast. I mean I spent the entire 2014 July transfer season saying paying a guy coming back from a knee injury £350k a week was madness.

Twitter rumours (so about as trustworthy as the scum newspaper) saying Di Maria has requested a transfer from United

I was dreading the Di Maria 'transfer request' as FC Bayern are strongly linked with him to replace the ageing Franck Ribery, but at nearly £60m it's too expensive.

To be honest I always thought he underwhelmed as a winger, and excelled in the deeper central position Carlo played him in. United dont have the players to let him play that role though

No doubt Di Maria is a top player, but as you said(GSC), he's not consistence on the wing. Factoring in that Di Maria likes to play on the right wing, Robben plays there and is much better.

Re: Summer Transfer Window Thread 15/16
Hes a top player when he wants to play, his body language for me against Hull spoke volumes, still dont think he was injured, just has no interest in playing for United. If he had any fight about him he wouldve played his heart out when he first got dropped but he shown nothing
Probably lucky if we got half the money back we spent, especially if these rumours prove to be true and teams know.he wants out

England u21 striker on a low fee. Seems smart to me. Get him and Benteke and their attack has options and threat even without Sturridge. Still think Berahino is the signing Liverpool should be making, and I'd venture clubs above like United too, but maybe his attitude has put people off. Or the attitude of Aidy Ward.

If you sign a player that ain't good enough for free, you're still signing a player that ain't good enough.

I don't think even Liverpool would pay £32.5m for Cameron Jerome Olly.

Not sure Liverpool will want to be dealing with Aidy Ward on two fronts!

Few of you have got a strange 'obsession' with Liverpool on here. Like a young kid picking on a girl at your school to mask the fact you really fancy them

Indeed, its probably the exact reason. I think Aidy Ward would be eaten up and spat out at a club like United, so wouldn't be a risk for them.

Weird that football fans would discuss the transfer dealings of a football club who have put out quite a bit of noise as the season has ended about transfer dealings...

Is that according to reports in France? Koeman has said that Clasie is a target is Schneiderlin leaves. Would be nice to see Clasie in the Prem

I think i'd rather have Clasie to be honest, not at all interested in Schneiderlin.

I think Scneiderlin would be a fantastic signing, would be really happy with that addition, can play alongside Carrick but replace him as well
Alas i wonder whether there are any substance to these or whether its a ruse to force Arsenes hand

There's talk that Lukas Podolski will undergo a medical at Galatasaray next week. Looking at about a £9 million fee.

HH, not having a go, but wasn't it you that stated a few weeks back that you rarely, if ever, watched foreign leagues & didn't even know who Pelle or Tadic were? I'm surprised you'd prefer to have Clasie, an unproven PL performer, ahead of a proven & quality operator in the form of Schneiderlein
As for Liverpool going for Ings, just cementing their 'into the wilderness' for the next two or three years with that one. I'm happy they are going this route & staying away from our Saido.

Believe it or not I made an active decision to watch the Dutch players prior and during to the world cup because of LVG, Clasie has impressed whenever i've watched him.

The Times are reporting that Celtic are closing in on Manchester City defender Dedryck Boyata. Would be a significant departure for City as he's one of a small number of home grown players still there.

That's nearly £8mil a year though Dolph, i'm starting to feel like i'm stuck in the 90's when wages and fees were high but more understandable, it's got to the point where I no longer understand money in football.

Next year's TV deal surely plays a part. Any decent agent will know that clubs revenues are going to increase from next year, so will do their upmost to get some of that money into their clients' pockets.

Don't try, its not a game the common man can identify with in that regard. Its depressing but its fact, and its how the world works.
In terms of the money; yeah, its huge, but he'd be on at least 90k a week regardless, so thats 60k a week extra. They are probably paying a little premium to make up for no CL too.
