well i can officially gloat now that mario has left. said at the time it would be a awful signing and i have certainly not been proven wrong. most liverpool fans said at the time it was worth a gamble because of the relative low transfer fee, cant say he was worth even that

Hardly an astute observation!
Terrible transfer, glad he's gone. Sad that he ever played for the club.

Tony Pulis will be angry tonight, left Crystal Palace for not making signings, now the same thing has happened with West Brom. Only signing they're expected to make now is Hal Robson-Kanu which is incredibly depressing.

Tidy little transfer window. Finally got two right backs, got a quality striker, Feghouli is a steal, Masuaku looks an incredible find, depth added. Think we've found it hard like a lot of clubs, but whilst we haven't gone flying, I think we've ticked over nicely and not lost Lanzini or Payet.

Bit off topic but what happened to mystiroakey? (spelling)
Paul Merson is such an idiot, can't take anything he says seriously.

Losing Burke sucked. Still waiting on the FL to give approval to the new owner so we can punt Fawaz

In this market its not insane. Needs the right manager and team spirit to keep him on the right track. Id bet more on Koeman.

You're better off shot regardless. He's only going to sleepwalk his way through to January when he gets loaned to Watford if he stays.

He can't defend but football is much more fun with David Luiz involved.

Best DM in the premier league is David Luiz.

You mean Kante, who will be putting out fires that Luiz creates. Don't get that signing tbh. I sensed Chelsea really struggled for ideas in this window, post the Kante signing.

Apparently Everton are absolutely furious about Moussa Sissoko, they had a private jet ready for him and he just didn't turn up.

That Valencia pic ain't as bad as what the Swansea football site did. They posted a whole article about welcoming Valencia to Swansea after he already joined Everton

Re: Summer Transfer Thread 16/17
I was looking at ranking the window, but I dont think anyone outside Chelsea, Leicester and the two Manchester sides can be really happy. Liverpool and Arsenal have done decent business, but needed more.
West Ham and Everton have made some smart acquisitions and will feel they missed an opportunity in other aspects- and mainly they join a pack of teams who haven't done badly. The window seems to have been difficult for a lot of people; domestic sides having no need to sell, fees costing about 10% more going abroad after the Brexit stuff. Palace should be happy; they have upgraded in a few areas.
West Brom and Sunderland would both look like they really should have done better,. Burnley and Bournemouth seem to live in their own world with different needs to everyone else. Hull are threadbare, Swansea's business does not convince me at all, Middlesbrough have done a lot of business and have to take on a new league as they do, so that'll be about how well they settle.
Tottenham and Stoke will have to hope late signings deliver like their reputations (one built on achievements gone by, one on the Euros), Southampton and Watford I don't know what to expect of.
