Manu, Billy....I wouldn't have rushed Kruis back (despite him playing very well)

Whilst I like Eddie keeping a selection consistency, we have numerous players which means players should not be risked.

For Billy, we have Nathan Hughes (pretty inexperienced at this level, but a beast) and Ben Morgan who we know has played some great games for England.

No need to rush him.

I agree that players shouldn't be rushed, GF. With the ridiculous schedules now and in place and sheer power and frequency of collisions in the modern game the days of players 'only playing if 100%' have passed though. Players are patched up and thrown back out on the field.

I don't agree with it in the slightest. In fact I detest it. Fewer matches played overall and a higher quality of match when played would be far better. Injuries and burnout would be less frequent, which in turn would mean getting the best players on the pitch and more often playing at their best when there.

The modern schedule doesn't allow it though.

Thankfully for Billy the depth and structure that Sarries have is more likely to mean he gets a better break than many would.

I play amateur rugby, and I rarely fill at 100% each week I play. I know the pro's will be in many times better condition, but the hits will also be harder by the same factor. I don't think it's possible in such an attritional game to be 100% each week, unless you get a week off or only play a small part in a game.

I think there has to be a level, and you can definitely play through certain pain barriers. However, I think when you are returning from an injury such as knee cartilage, you need to take your time and ensure the knee is fully healed.

I don't think they'll be 100% I just think being rushed straight back after an operation etc needs to be considered carefully.

And for those with long term problems like Manu....its needs to be VERY careful and cautious....
