It is a bad mistake to close a thread....
First topic message reminder :
....Because people disagree about tennis matter. Be careful not to over moderate this forum. As far as I could read, there was no insults, no sexism, racial abuse and that should be the only concern of the mods.
We all come from 606 for its good and its bad, most of us would still be there if it wasn;t for its closure.

Hey Solerina,
I am glad you will be able to watch the match. No Moto GP to disrupt.
I cannot wait for match and decided to watch it on Eurosport as BBC2 were showing the politics show Urgh!

Thanks LK....I so rarely get to watch tennis...so it's a real treat for me.
I'm a bit worried tho'....coz Andy always plays better when I don't watch him

Shame the Murray thread was closed. It did make me laugh.....and that's only the important thing for me.
I really don;t like this over moderation and theats. It's bad.
I understand we don't allow 5 threads like that to open...but one for the sake of fun? nothing wrong.

Tenez
It is up to the Admin & Mod team to decide on when to lock a thread. If it is needed for a time out period then it will happen.

But was it needed? I did not read the whole thread but from what I coudl read no one died out there.
You woudl be surprised how keen posters are to point out a wum on those wummy threads.
They love it.

Tenez,
The thread wasn't treated as wumming. It was locked to calm the situation down as some feathers were ruffled.
The thread hasn't been deleted.
I just want people to debate respectfully.

Threads will be locked from time to time for various reasons, where possible they will be unlocked and left like that as long as the posters stay on topic.
Please can we not question every locked thread, the moderators make their decisions for the best of the forum and don't need to be questioned at every step.

Again, i tend to agree with tenez on this issue, as I feel like the posters do need some freedom to express themselves. I mean are a few feathers being ruffled such a bad thing. I would agree that this site needs moderation but lets not get to the point where we are stiffling debate. But aren't we all big boys and girls, we can stand a little back and forth. Things like racist or sexist slurs, threats, personal attacks are in my opinion areas where we should have zero tolerance. But just ignore the wums, if you choose to engage them that is fun. I kind of found unbiased educator funny, with his posts on how Thomas Enquvist would have won 20 grandslams in the weak era of Roger Federer.

Unfortunately, the new regime are balancing what is deemed funny against what is deemed to be disrepectful or potentially annoying, and it's the latter consideration that seems to be the final decider as to whether a post/poster gets on this forum.
There are plenty of people, probably a majority, here that approve of this - and that's got to be the main thing.

I also made a thread with no abuse and somebody (probably legendkillar) deemed it necessary to remove it, even when he asked me for some evidence and i showed him.

The article was written to bash Nadal fans. Was off topic. So please stick to the rules of this site.

I totally agree I think that the mods have had a little much to do initially here but legend is used to the tennis forum and knows what wums look like from experience.Jarvik wrote:socal1976 wrote:Again, i tend to agree with tenez on this issue, as I feel like the posters do need some freedom to express themselves. Judging by your other posts the actual "POSITIVE" tennis contribution is to say the least is LIMITED.

What is the negative?
There are differences between clear reality and "NEGATIVITY" as you boys seem to put it.
I also think it's pointless to check my PM thank you Enforcer, just another brainwashing site..

Can we have any fun on this site LK/Enforcer???
Or is banter disallowed if it contains Nadal/Murray?

So your idea of banter is 'bashing' Nadal's fans who actually bring contrusctive topics to the forum?
Nothing stops people having fun on this site, provided that the intention isn't to WUM.

It's not pointless to check your pm, it is mandatory to follow an admins direction on this site.
Please read the pm, or you will be facing a ban. I wouldn't normally issue a warning on a public forum, but if you refuse to read my pm I have no choice.

Re: It is a bad mistake to close a thread....
Who says anything about crying?
Josiah let me make some points about your thread and see what logic there exists as you are clearly intelligent
First you post a topic.
Then your comments have nothing whatsoever to with the subject of the topic.
Then you bash Nadal's fans for moaning about him being injured and using that as an excuse for his defeats to Djokovic.
Then you say that they moaned in 2009 which again has nothing to do with the above post.
Then you post a link to another forum which does not represent the views of the Nadal fans on this forum.
My god what genius you are!
