The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
First topic message reminder :
Cari wrote:Welcome to the virtual rugby pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the Tommy Bowe photo on the bar. That's a banning offence
So pull up a chair....what'll it be?

Well it was mainly about battle strategies, but the point was made that he never set out to become Protectorate of England.

Didn't he play scrum-half with real heads? And that was just for England.

Fair enough. All I remember was from my few years in the English system him being this amazing person.
Lets just say he was was viewed a little differently in Irish history

Not too much knackered today. That interview lasted 2 hours. Gonna have a bath and relax
Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
I've seen trailers for that, Cari. It all looks quite sleek.
I'm listening to an old Polar Bear album and digging it

How did it go, Stag? Tell us what you think. Or (this is my surmise) did they just offer you the job on the spot?

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
I thought it went very well overall. Except they never asked me anything in German. They said that they are going to get someone to call me to chat to me in German but I thought it went very well. I was interviewed by 3 different people who are the hiring the panel. Around 45 minutes with each of them.
Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Lucky - it is very sleek. It's like the producers wanted to make a English version of Spiral or something. Lots of moody shots and riddled dialogue.
Staggy - that sounds promising. When will you know the outcome?

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Cari - they told me the process is the 3 of them on the hiring panel have to compare notes and discuss if I'm right for the role. In the meantime some time tomorrow I will get a call from a German native to gauge my language. If they decide to give me the job they'll then find out what my language skills are like and if good enough I'll get it. No idea really when I'd find out.

Basically Mick its a company who sell medical technology to hospitals and clinics. I'd be talking to the clients from Germany and Austria who are checking up on their orders. In addition I would have monthly projects to complete such as presentations based on the feedback from the clients or forecasting ways to improve the client support thats there. All that kind of stuff.

Just thinkin Cari, the rugby section alone, has nigh-on 15,000 posts now. A 1000 of them yours! Yo.
It is accelerating. Which is nice.
Hobo deserves it, for all the work he's done and all the help he gave us to feel comfortable on here.
Here's a pint for himself when he drops in.

Its only a 5 minutes walk from my house (as opposed to my current job which is a 25km car journey on a dual carraige way). Couple of hundred metres.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
The smart man keeps his options open Mick I start my Literature and History course in September but thats 4 years long. This will keep me motivated as will my lessons I give. I'm biding my time but there is a future if I would get this job. There's places to progress to. New skills to be learnt and you never know with life.
Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Anyway all I've been up since 5.45am and have had a long day. Tomorrow is the same so its a bath and a deep slumber for me. Night all.

Not mutually exclusive though, is it?
Imagine the above with one person.
