Would guess there's an option to buy in there.
Could be a decent option.

Fellaini wasn't the worst player to wear a United shirt. I didn't think he was worth the 27 million that United paid for him, but he was certainly no disgrace.
Good luck to him if he does go.

He was certainly among the most trusted United players by all of his managers.

Matic been struggling for two years, so no surprise they're selling for £40m. More of a signing to aid balance, and bring out the best in others, than his actual individual quality. I'd imagine there's a few underwhelmed United fans

Hes a solid player, consistent in a position where thats the most key attribute. 40m is a lot of him but everybodys going for stupid money these days.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2017 Thread
I know Matic hasn't been fantastic for Chelsea the last two years but cannot understand the logic in directly strengthening a rival. £40 million is hardly even a huge amount of money in this window. I think Matic is much more valuable to Manchester United than he is to Chelsea as he's going to be a longer-term replacement for Carrick as his strengths are similar. He's good at recycling possession and setting the pace. He never really fit in for Chelsea once Conte switched to 3-4-3 where they needed a more dynamic player. Chelsea would have been better off accepting a lower bid and selling him to a club abroad (if he would have left).

He wasn't my first choice but he comes with positives
Is he better than a 36 year old Carrick - Yes
Is he better than Fellaini? - Yes
Will he do the dirty work, stick to his role and free Pogba up to push further forward - this is the hope
I know Fellaini does the dirty work too, but theres a difference between giving 100% and performing the task efficiently
I'm not buying in to the Fellaini to Galatasaray rumours, and to be honest he isn't a bad player to have in the squad as an option off the bench late on, but he's far too clumsy and not of the quality to be starting week in week out if you want to challenge for a league title
I just hope we don't see a midfield pairing of both Matic and Fellaini all that often. Was bad enough watching us from January last season to the point where I hated going the games

My fave Twitter comment on the Matic transfer was one that said 'It's buying a 89m iPhone and then needing to buy a 40m charger to make it work properly.'

If Aurier is even allowed into the country is the blockage on the deal at the moment. I'd have thought Manchester United need a left back more than they need a right back. Antonio Valencia with Darmian as cover, with other youngsters able to play there isn't bad. Left back, they have the completely out of favour Luke Shaw, potentially Darmian as first choice, or playing Blind or Rojo there who seem better suited to different positions.
Is that Kieral Richalison?

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2017 Thread
It's a weird one though, they're essentially gambling. If he's any good, Manchester City will probably just get him back, if he's not, then they have wasted £25 million. The best thing to happen for Leicester is that he's quite good, but not good enough that City will want him back.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2017 Thread
I'm assuming the buy back price would be higher than the £25m. All that would mean is that if City wanted him back, it would essentially be a loan in disguise.

Is it £50m? Probably why it took so long as we were in for him and baulked at it being 35-40m.
Not sure on Ian Nachos - a lot easier scoring goals in that City side

Looks like the Neymar deal is happening.
There's a lot about it that stinks, but some that does make sense.
Very intrigued to see what happens next. Barca needed to buy anyway, now they definitely will. PSG will also have to sell some players.
Would guess Matuidi ends up at Juve, Dybala must be on Barca radars but I don't see Coutinho going

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2017 Thread
Neymar did announce to his team mates that he is leaving the club.
Question now is how long it will take PSG to tackle all the related hurdles (la Liga, UEFA fair play rules, tax issues etc). PSG marketing income seem really inflated. It's going to happen one way or another as there is no point in keeping a player that wants to go. Blame his father / agent for this.

Countinho was only announced to Barca because he is a friend of Neymar (same reason PSG signed Dani Alves and has a try at Alexis Sanchez).

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2017 Thread
Apparently Qatar ( the country) are paying Neymar 300m to be the face of 2022 world cup
He'll then use that to buy out his contract, and become a free agent .. conveniently signing for PSG and swerving FFP as it doesn't come from them

Yeah, he's a decent youngster. Central midfielder, who likes to get forward, good long ranges shots and gets a decent number of goals.
He'd have a chance in our first team in a few years.

Depends if they get some money with it. He's 29 and will probably score 20 goals, Lacazette can play off the left and Ozil float from the right in the 3-4-3 system.

Got to question this wisdom from Barcelona to splash £89m on a fair weather player like Coutinho to replace Neymar Jr. Neymar is genuinely top level elite quality. Whereas Coutinho shows up a few times during the season. Barcelona would be better off signing Paulo Dybala and Ousman Dembele. They would still have enough change to get another CM as well

Neymar is seen as top quality because we're told he is, I've yet to see anything from him to suggest he's near the player you suggest he is.
