Lions 2017 - the decider
First topic message reminder :
After months if not years, of debate, arguments and plenty bickering the time has come - The Lions are in New Zealand and the tour has begun!
I think it is fair to say that if you're not a fan of the concept of the Lions then this isn't the thread to bring it up - we have had plenty of that over several months and the debate has been done to death. This thread will hopefully be a positive place where those excited about the tour (like me!) can talk about everything that's going on. That's until Jamie Roberts gets a callup of course...
3 June - Provincial union team (Toll Stadium, Whangarei)
7 June - Blues (Eden Park, Auckland)
10 June - Crusaders (AMI Stadium, Christchurch)
13 June - Highlanders (Forsyth Barr Stadium, Dunedin)
17 June - Maori (International Stadium, Rotorua)
20 June - Chiefs (Waikato Stadium, Hamilton)
24 June - New Zealand (First Test, Eden Park, Auckland)
27 June - Hurricanes (Westpac Stadium, Wellington)
1 July - New Zealand (Second Test, Westpac Stadium, Wellington)
8 July - New Zealand (Third Test, Eden Park, Auckland)

I'm not a Lions fan, as I've been saying for weeks.
well then must have no life if you're on here now
Not entirely untrue at the minute unfortunately (not a fan of the summer) but I am a big fan of rugby in general. Just not a Lions supporter.
sorry to hear that chum try and be on side right now though eh

Didn't you spend the pre tour period counting the points Welsh players scored last tour? English players have scored every point.Gwlad wrote:English boys really contributing again (to our demise)

Do us a favour and stop trying to ruin the thread then.
Do me a favour and lighten up and grow up, Griff.
Mate, you don't like the Lions yet post on a Lions match thread and laugh at their errors. That's the epitome of childishness. And an example of WUMming too.
I'm not your "mate" Mr Griff. It was one line-out and I was laughing at the irony given the debate over Rory Best the other day. It isn't a big deal, nor is it childish. Or WUMming. Grow up, sir.

Not vintage....but nail biter which adds to the entertainment..
Watson has lost his footing a lot in these 3 games..
JD definitely player of the series for the Lions...closely followed by SOB. AWJ has come back strongly the past two tests...credit to him. Itoje also huge these last two matches.
Sadly think there have also been a few key players who just havent turned up at all

Can't knock Farrell's composure goal kicking wise (yet).

If Sexton is fit to play to the end of the game then bring Te'o on to 12 for Farrell.

Just hope the series isn't decided by a dodgy penalty decision.

What happens if it finishes a draw? Points difference I'm assuming?

Re: Lions 2017 - the decider
Two critical errors in 5 mins from Lions...
However all the pressure came after we gave possession away with a box kick...again...not sure why went for that when we were in the ascension and pressuring NZ nicely.

Re: Lions 2017 - the decider
I was never trying to talk to Griff in the first place. Anyway, despite the moaning I will receive for this, what has happened to Jamie George's line out throwing? It is certainly a talking point for after the game, given the debate over Rory Best.

Re: Lions 2017 - the decider
Running behind on replay and after only 3 minutes what is Poite up to? First penalty against Warburton was 100% wrong way - he was on his feet and then got neck rolled ... a minute later the ABs kick out from their own half and the entire team was in front of the kicker ...

Re: Lions 2017 - the decider
Very disappointing this. The AB's were/are playing poorly and are there for the taking. Way too stagnant with the changes from Gatland, Te'o should have been on at 1/2 time for either Sexton or Farrell.

Re: Lions 2017 - the decider
Game over! NZ keeping ball and suffocating the game now...
Its what we should have been doing when we had the possession and momentum. Instead of trusting ourselves to keep ball we did the usual NH thing and kicked.

Incredible we're still in this considering how awful our handling has been across the board.

I have no idea what has happened to him. Confidence, maybe? He was always very solid under the high ball, or defending in general.

Watson had to go to 15 and Williams off. Would have changed their positions at 1/2 time and brought Nowell on for Williams at around the 65min mark.

Yep 100% the wrong way ... followed a minute later by the most clear and obvious offside in front of the kicker - but look who's on the touch-line ...
