Lions 2017 - the decider
First topic message reminder :
After months if not years, of debate, arguments and plenty bickering the time has come - The Lions are in New Zealand and the tour has begun!
I think it is fair to say that if you're not a fan of the concept of the Lions then this isn't the thread to bring it up - we have had plenty of that over several months and the debate has been done to death. This thread will hopefully be a positive place where those excited about the tour (like me!) can talk about everything that's going on. That's until Jamie Roberts gets a callup of course...
3 June - Provincial union team (Toll Stadium, Whangarei)
7 June - Blues (Eden Park, Auckland)
10 June - Crusaders (AMI Stadium, Christchurch)
13 June - Highlanders (Forsyth Barr Stadium, Dunedin)
17 June - Maori (International Stadium, Rotorua)
20 June - Chiefs (Waikato Stadium, Hamilton)
24 June - New Zealand (First Test, Eden Park, Auckland)
27 June - Hurricanes (Westpac Stadium, Wellington)
1 July - New Zealand (Second Test, Westpac Stadium, Wellington)
8 July - New Zealand (Third Test, Eden Park, Auckland)

Farrell having an absolute 'mare. He needs to come out after the break and really find something in the first 10 minutes or Gatland needs to pull him (Sexton injury permitting).
AWJ and Itoje working their backsides off, Warbs impacting plenty of rucks. Lions need to tighten up a bit and start taking chances, as they have been there.

Farrell really is not on it.
AB's dominant but only 6 in it when they should be out of sight.

Davies is again a standout player for the Lions. The backs just need to get it to him.
I would also drop Watson to 15, far better under the high ball than Williams and send Williams to the wing where he can be more of an attacking threat on the counter.

Davies bar the fact Itoje and Warburton are on the pitch and his lazy running to allow nz s first.

Real mix of good and bad so far! Warbs, Itoje, Murray and Davies all playing well but Farrell and Williams both not at the races so far.
Luckily NZ seem pretty rubbish at times, not sure what's the matter with them but they're just not quite clicking... yet.

The Lions are only in this because NZ have been so sloppy.

The ABs are keeping us in this. Very sporting of them. I guess they're playing on the margins so errors are inevitable but we look all over the place defensively in the backs

New Zealand reverting to type of course. And it's to AWJ so thanks for clogging the forum with angry Welshman for the next few weeks.

Chance for Lions now with that yellow card...
Bad luck for Sexton with the injury but at least Teo has got on now
Lawes too. Important ten minutes coming up...

Aside from that great break at the beginning have the lions even been inside NZ 22?

OK Barrett hit Sexton on the head, but don't like the way Sexton tried to milk it.

With the amount of 'flat' passes let go, that's a marginal call

It would certainly be between him and SOB but I do think JD2 has been the standout performer.

Not entirely untrue at the minute unfortunately (not a fan of the summer) but I am a big fan of rugby in general. Just not a Lions supporter.

Mate, you don't like the Lions yet post on a Lions match thread and laugh at their errors. That's the epitome of childishness. And an example of WUMming too.

Re: Lions 2017 - the decider
Can we get another thread for the WUMs so the grown ups can talk about the rugby?
Great from JD. Handling from both sides ambitious but can't finish anything. Not exactly a vintage test match.

Can see the Lions causing a massive upset again here.
Not often one sees the ABs so mistake ridden, turning over possession like these last 2 games.
