Summer Transfer Window 2017 Thread
First topic message reminder :
The rage from La Liga is exciting.
That money argument does show you why there's no need to worry about Bale not having suitors. If Everton can throw £48m at Siggy, Liverpool can offer upwards of £70m for Nany Keita then I can't see Man United being scared of throwing £90m at Bale.

Llorente having a medical at Spurs, Janssen could go the other way on loan.
Actually think the Ox deal will end up a massive mistake. Not sure what he actually does well beyond being quick.

Considering some of the stupid prices Championship players are going at it's a steal. Plus you could whack Jota into a lower place PL side & he'd been fine.

Nando's beaten me too it - Jota is class, easily good enough for a lower half PL side

Think you're living in a different year, GSC.
Klopp factor gets Oxlade.
I'm surprised at Chamberlain, not sure he's shown much bottle or loyalty to Arsenal, but let's see if he can make an impact at Liverpool.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2017 Thread
Chelsea have bid £30 million for Danny Drinkwater and supposedly Mahrez is off to Chelsea for £45 million as well. Why not just go for Jamie Vardy as well and take the core of that title winning side?
Although some reports have Mahrez in Barcelona right now ahead of a move to Barca.
Everton have offered to take Lucas Perez on loan. Newcastle are trying to sign him permanently.
Divock Origi close to a loan move to Wolfsburg.
No more signings expected for Liverpool, Monaco and Southampton have not budged on their positions so Lemar and Van Dijk looking really unlikely. No alternatives lined up.
Liverpool reaffirming that Coutinho won't be sold.
Arsenal looking at Draxler and Barkley as replacements for Sanchez. Draxler doesn't want to leave Paris.
Watford have been offered Nico Gaitan on loan from Atletico Madrid.
Wilfried Bony on his way back to Swansea for £12 million.

Reports are that Arsenal have accepted the £60 million bid for Sanchez from Manchester City and are now trying to sign Lemar or Draxler to replace but Monaco don't want to sell and neither player wants to move to Arsenal.

Origi has gone to Wolfsburg on loan.
I'd have preferred he got more games in the Premier League, as more relevant to us and also would allow him to take points from our rivals but apparently the club wanted him to go abroad.

Looks like Lemar is off and Draxler likely to be off, which then means Sanchez is staying put.

I like Origi, although don't think he's as good as either player you just used there.
Would be a good fit for the likes of us, Newcastle, Burnley and Stoke.

I don't think he's as good as either, but think it's unfair to say he's gash when he outscored both last year per 90.
I think most teams outside of the top 7 would appreciate Origi to be honest.

Ashleys lack of transfers mean Newcastle could end up with a lower wage bill than in the championship last year and making a profit on transfers!!!

That was the rumoured asking price from Monaco which Liverpool weren't willing to hit. So it makes sense if true.

peter crouch has a better scoring record per cap than rooney. does that mean hes a better player. not to mention the two you highlighted have played left wing for majority and not upfront

Can someone say "underwhelming" deadline day.
They really need to do away with it now, or make it earlier...i.e. before the start of the season. It was worth it when you got big last minute signings.
Now its an exercise in over-inflated prices for players who werent even on transfer target lists weeks ago. Im of the thinking many teams actually drag these things to the last day to increase media coverage etc because simply no other reason behind it...
We all knew Sanchez wanted to go....including everyone at Arsenal...no need for it still to be up in the air. If City really wanted him they should have offered £60million weeks ago...and if Wenger really cared or wanted it resolved he could have sold him and brought someone such as Lemar in weeks ago.

So did Origi.
It's just unfair to label him gash. He's a good player with a decent goal scoring record with the opportunities he's been given.

Sakho to Palace, Llorente to Tottenham and Bony to Swansea seem like the only Premier League deals left to go through.
Chelsea seemed to have missed out on all their targets, which must be really frustrating and their squad depth seems poor.

Probably be remembered as the summer football lost whats left of its sanity. Skipped directly from the first 100m to the first 200m, money has seemingly lost all meaning.

Although as a percentage of club revenues, the prices this summer are much more reasonable than the deals going through in the late 90s early 00s.

Think they spent so long talking about not repeating 2 years ago it's became a fixture in their minds.
Don't think it's quite the disaster it's been made out to be, they have enough defensively and in midfield, but they're still heavily reliant on Eden Hazard being brilliant.
Still, if he recovers and Morata settles they could be well in the race.

Drinkwater and Sakho to Chelsea and Palace respectively are two Kate deals done.
Arsenal have somehow used the "catalyst for change" of falling out of the top four to end up in profit this window.
Newcastle and West Ham fans are both looking at their Chairmen and thinking who is playing to lose the hardest with their managerial torment games.
Man United probably won the window, although Leicester have snuck in some fantastic business.

Wouldn't surprise me if Rafa used this to engineer his exit. Though as much flak as Ashley gets and deserves, I can't blame him for asking why Rafa wants to dump the entire squad he spent a mint on last year.
Think West Brom did well but looking at the signings, I do wonder if they're now planning for post Pulis.
