The most exciting thing for me could well be if Rentokil call me back about the wasps nest in my loft.

I had a wasp problem a few years back. There was this Afghan worker here one day who calmly lit an aerosol can and incinerated the nest which was on an outside wall... in about 3 seconds. Problem solved.

Are they homing wasps? Apparently some species are genetically programmed to return to the same place. The European ones are quite aggressive aren't they? I think mine were hybrids - Euro/wood wasp.

they don't bother us - just fly into the loft above the bedroom window, through a crack in the brickwork. Rarely come inside, even when the window is open.
I don't fancy setting my house on fire though.
