The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
First topic message reminder :
Welcome to the virtual rugby pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the Tommy Bowe photo on the bar. That's a banning offence
So pull up a chair....what'll it be?

Stag, just thinking if you're planning to get up here for a meet the weekend of the Australia game, how good would it be if Ulster had a home game that weekend?

I was only thinking the same.
Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Do you know when the fixtures come out this year?
They don't even have the new Pro12 website up yet.

Are you not watching Scotland vs The Auld Enemy Asbo?
I think it's quite cool that New Zealand use a different style of jersey for all their other international sides, makes the honour of winning an All Blacks jersey that much more special.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
aaaargh poor tackling, really poor 12-0 down already ouch.
Looking okay going forward, some promising breaks but we're getting too isolated and turned over to easily, not good!
Mr S - congrats! Have a celebratory

England interception try from deep in their own 22, excellent try, well read - Scotland need to protect the ball far better - cherish the leather

Ah Stag c'mon, did you never have a celebratory drink after your exams?
Mr S- currently watching Wales v NZ in the U20's, we are definitely 2nd best at the moment, 14 mins into the match.
Handling, offloading, breakdown....this NZ is very, very good.
And as I type, NZ no.11 waltzes through our defence before passing tos end their no.7 over. This could get painful
19-0 after 16 mins

Asbo - its a rule I rarely see penalised. I'm not watching the match but I'm not surprised it wasn't pinged.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Asbo has a multi-screen situation going on. Sounds like he's got quite a set-up!
I'm watching the New Zealand vs Wales game. I want to have a look at the Baby Blacks. They've just picked up their third try, 19-0 after 16 minutes. They're blowing Wales away at the breakdown atm and finishing everything that comes their way, even the fact their lineout has been shabby isn't sparing the Welsh
Oh my god, they've just scored another try. 24-0. Not twenty minutes gone.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
The amount of times Wales have been turned over already is astonishing. And the NZ linout has been so poor, yet often they lose a lineout only to turn the ball over on the next phase and go over for a score a few phases after that so... try no. 5. Wales just aren't at it here.

Luke Whitelock, the NZ Captain, is one of the famous Whitelock brothers. His older siblings have obviously been very successful in Super Rugby.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
This is quite painful.
I know the BB's are good at the break down etc but we are falling off far too many tackles and making it a lot easier for them than it should be. We jjust need to actually keep hold of the ball for a few phases, we haven't seen it properly since about the 7th minute!
And NZ score again. They just look such a professional, well drilled unit.

Scotland are playing well. England are trying to be too flash at times and putting themselves under needless pressure. I remain to be impressed by any of the England SHs so far this tournament.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Every time Wales get the ball, you know sooner or later there will be a ruck. And every time there is a ruck NZ are their in numbers, much more physical and drive over the ball. And Wales look so under-powered in comparison.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
It's esay to see what we need to do Notch, we just look a bit shell shocked to be honest! Our forwards need to up their game big style. Have been quite impressed with our wingers and Liam Williams with his move to FB, at least they look capable of doing something.
And I have no OR in the flat! GOing to have to run out for some at half time me thinks.

They got a tad lucky there. Looked like an early tackle to me. Still i wouldnt begrudge them it. I wouldnt get into a fight with those NZ boys though

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
England set-piece strength and physicality beginning to take its toll, but Farrell hits the post with a simple penalty from in front. Scotland just need to back themselves with ball in hand, retain possession and they look dangerous

Looks like you might need it
You're absolutely right regarding your forwards. They're being completely dominated. At least their lineout has misfired
And then Wales make the mistake at the lineout

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
ah it's just so easy for them!
That was another try to NZ btw.
38-0 after 36 mins.
If we're not careful we might end up on the end of a worse score than Italy!
And another try for them
it's not even half time yet!!!
