The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
First topic message reminder :
Welcome to the virtual rugby pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the Tommy Bowe photo on the bar. That's a banning offence
So pull up a chair....what'll it be?

Just another incredible New Zealand U20 side. It's going to take a very special side to beat them some year.

First half finishes 20-6 in Eng vs Scot, Scotland played some enterprising stuff, but England beginning to dominate in all phases as the boys in Blue tire

Some weaknesses at the lineout that will frustrate the NZ coaches; if only them losing their own ball at the lineout meant they didn't see the ball again for a few minutes it would be an achilles heel but they are able to turn over the ball again so quickly.

Haven't seen that much of him tbh, it's mainly been Weir with Gilmour and Bryce running off him

Do you think their talent identification system in New Zealand is one of the top in all international sport?

Probably Munsty, but this NZ team look light years ahead of the other sides at the competition in every respect. In terms of how well drilled they are they are miles ahead. A terrifying black conveyor belt.

And remember the side from last year which absolutely walked the final? The one in 2009 was probably the weakest yet they still managed for win by 20 points in the final.

As - agree. Your boys were blowing hard after 25 mins and llok tired. They really should have made of the possession in the first 20 and got some momentum.
England haven't looked great, but a lot of 2nd string guys started this one. Oh, and the SA commentator isn't biased much

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Iolo Evans the only glimmering bit of hope for Wales in this match.
AAaaargh we are so close to their line! But just look how physical NZ are at the breakdown, and sneaky too to get that turnover.......
how did they get that 2nd turnover when the NZ guy was blatently offside and blocking the Welsh players trying to get the ball back!?!?
And they blydi well go and score a try after it.
I am now.

"You get the feeling that New Zealand have scored 50, now they're saying to each other let's go for 100"
If you're Welsh, you really never want to hear that sentence from the commentators.
It was Shingler who started munsty, the Llanelli 10.
Jeez, is that another one? I think it is. What's the record score in this tournament?

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
this is horrible. absolutely horrible. Thank god I managed to battle my way through the hoards of women in the city centre so I could get myself some beer.
I know NZ are a level ahead of us but I really don't think we've turned up today, falling off tackles all over the place. Guess the quick turnaround from the match against Argentina has really taken it out of us, that or we're seriously lacking in fitness.

It's already 71-0 As.
Fair play to any Welsh person who sticks with this to the end.

why wouldn't they though Munsty? I know it's horrible but if you follow your team, you follow your team. I don't care how painful it is.

Yes. They take a few trips to the Islands, hand-pick em, bring em back, train em and they are sorted.
Seriously though, they are just physically faster, stronger, play as a unit and their ball-handling skills are a copy of the Seniors.
I feel sorry for young Wales here. Heads are down. I think they just want off the pitch.

What a fantastic Scottish try!
Also what a soft yellow for the Welsh. How much worse will it get with just 14 men against the Black wave.

someone else scored for NZ now. 78-0, 20 mins to go.
Hamilton on for us now, let's see if he can make even a smidgen of a difference for us.

Munsty, like the look of Tyas at 8. Scotland starting to blow a little now, will need to find extra from somewhere - England look a little rattled, but they'll find the comfort zone quick enough if we don't keep on at them

That's true Munsty. Mon Bonnie Scotlaand.
Cant see anyone not getting destroyed by the AB's. Seem light-years ahead of the rest. What are Oz and France like?
Nearly Bennett. Nearly.

Luckily for Wales looks like the Kiwis have started playing like 15 individuals - far too much glory-hunting instead of putting ball thru hand and taking advantage of overlaps

Lovely run from Waspie Christian Wade from deep in his 22, almost scored from one end to the other - he did the same against the Chiefs in the AP and Luke Arscott couldn't catch him then - pacy young man

Well-worked try for England's Ryan Mills, made numbers tell in the backs 25-13

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
I have to say a lot of what i have seen at the breakdown would get pinged at a higher level. The number of turnovers is massive but when (both) teams are driving over the ball a lot of the time they are supporting themselves with their hands and therefore off their feet.
Would need to see it again to be sure but another ref may/should be much stricter on that
