Re: Rugby Union Legends Game - Draft
All three hookers which have gone so far, were world class.
Just have to wait yep, hoping to start games next week, not too sure at the minute though, we have done well so far in the draft but weekends are a waiting game.
But im buzzing to get in my locks, I have some written down so I can remember them, but keep changing my mind, if there not taken shall I take this partnership, or this partnership or this partnership. Have three partnerships in mind, hopefully I can pull one of them off.

Re: Rugby Union Legends Game - Draft
Round 14 is winger and wasn't open until everyone has had their round 11 winger pick.
Should be open now as everyone has theirs, but you will have to wait until Bathite has had his R14 winger pick as he is above you in the order.

Re: Rugby Union Legends Game - Draft
All updated guys but first things first.
Luke with Martin Corry would you allow that, played more as an 8 for England but can also play 6 of course.
Inthefastlane I can't let you have Danie Gerber yet mate, im classing him as an outside centre you will have to choose another inside centre.
Sorry!

Re: Rugby Union Legends Game - Draft
Corry played plenty at 6 as well as in the second row so I would say that is fair enough.
Gerber, fair one, played 13 for Springboks.

Ummm think I will let you get away with Corry Luke, played a fair amount all over the place like Pete said, blindside and number 8 his main.
But inthefastlane you have to pick again, can't let you have Gerber at inside centre.

lets wait a second.
Sella and Umaga were both outside centres in my book but they've been taken as inside centres.
need some clarification on what consititutes a players position

Umaga played inside and out to be fair, but Sella was a 13 definitely.

I know nothing about where Danie Gerber played but I think we need to either be very strict or fairly understanding with player positions.

Re: Rugby Union Legends Game - Draft
Gerber played nearly all of his South African games at outside centre.
I will class Umaga as both inside and outside centre, has played both positions a fair amount of times.
I seen enough though to class Sella as an outside centre, Pullthestrings you will have to pick again and decide whether you want Sella or O'Driscoll as your 13.

Re: Rugby Union Legends Game - Draft
I know we have to be strict, im looking on espn scrum because it has all the games what every player has played international wise.
We just have to be careful on some of the flankers, but im happy to class all of them, centres though need altering Pullthestrings and inthefastlane need to choose again.
Locks, most locks play 4 & 5 so I have no problem with them.
Rest are ok.

Re: Rugby Union Legends Game - Draft
Sorry lad, Gerber played the majority of his games at 13 for South Africa so im counting him as an outside centre.
Just look on Espn scrum and click on his matches, it will tell you most of the time apart from about once or twice that he played outside centre.
You will have to pick again, but will have to wait for Pullthestrings.

Re: Rugby Union Legends Game - Draft
I'm not sure what MJ is on about with that team selection to be honest, he has probably just shoehorned him in at 12 as Gerber won 24 caps, all in the 13 jersey.

Re: Rugby Union Legends Game - Draft
Oh, well if he is service to requirements then we will just have to wait.
Pullthestrings is the main man though, quite a few positions rely on him.
Bathite as you have been about you can pick, tighthead and outside centre.

Re: Rugby Union Legends Game - Draft
Bear do you think in the opposite rounds you reverse the order. So if you were first in a category you go last, means you dont have 2 top players in one position and 2 weak in another but a mix

Re: Rugby Union Legends Game - Draft
We are over half way through the picks, don't think you can start changing the orders now. Everyone has the same amount of 1st, 2nd, 3rd etc picks.

Re: Rugby Union Legends Game - Draft
Don't really think it matters inthefastlane, nobody has picked weak players they were all really good in there own right some will be stronger in some positions while others will be stronger in others.
We have all picked our first winger and our starting full-back, all of which are strong players.

I mean so that instead of having the 1st and 11th best scrum half I have the 1st and 20th? If you don't like it then forget it :L

You've lost me inthefastlane. How would you get 1st and 11th scrum half?

You have lost me aswell sorry mate.
We are too far in this now to change it, you will be getting very good players anyhow, plus we are counting players in there prime.
Habana, Eales, Pelous, Dawson and Botha are you saying your not that happy with those players?

Re: Rugby Union Legends Game - Draft
Right so see round 5 I get a full back first so presumably I have the best Full back. Then round 15 I pick first again so in theory I get 11th best cos its the 11th pick. If you switched the lottery up so played who pick first in this round pick last in the same category next round

Re: Rugby Union Legends Game - Draft
Round 5 is lock. Round 15 is fullback.
You get 1st pick in each of these categories. We just ran them at the same time to speed the process up.
It is not Round 5 Lock and Fullback, then Round 15 Lock and fullback again, which is what I think you seem to think it is.

Re: Rugby Union Legends Game - Draft
It would have been simpler and a bit clearer if we had run them one at a time I think, but Bear wanted the draft completely quickly which is fair enough, so we opened 1-15 altogether to make it quicker.
Looking at the picks so far, will be some quality sides on show in this game. Going to have to be really picky and look at styles and how players would play as units for predictions in order to separate the teams.

Re: Rugby Union Legends Game - Draft
It wasn't ideal to open just one at once, it would take forever like somebody mentioned. This draft has gone very well so far, and everyone will have top quality in every position.
Looking at the wingers and flankers especially everyone has picked well so far, just predict how you want inthefastlane general knowledge, bit of videos do whatever mate.
But Pull, Banafan and Bathite need to get a wiggle on and hopefully some free time for us to start fixtures by wednesday or end of next week at the latest.
