The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
First topic message reminder :
Welcome to the virtual rugby pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the Tommy Bowe photo on the bar. That's a banning offence
So pull up a chair....what'll it be?

Here's one for Stag;

Seriously though, people are being given the chance to play alongside him in the Pro-Am. There'll be a competition for that honour. That would be unreal eh?

“The Irish Open is very high on the list of tournaments that I would like to win in my career one day,” added McIlroy, who arrived back in Belfast last night.
“I think every golfer has a special place in his or her heart for their national Open and I am no different. To win in front of a home crowd is something we don’t get the chance to do that often, so I’d love to win the title.

Serena hasn't played yet today Mick, so it was the former that won.

10-8. Ford kicked one pen. and missed one. Lot's of turnovers in this game.

Yeah? I think Serena's an amazing all round player, I mean she's just so dominant on the hard, clay and grass (fitness permitting!). But Venus playing on grass is just amazing. Or I think so anyway

Hound - cheers for the update in the rugby! Got the tennis on at home though as Murray's just started his match.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Was Ransom going flat-out there? He looked like he was going slowly to the line, and that's why the 9 caught him.
Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Yeah, looked like he slowed a little there, maybe thinking about but not getting round to the step?
Ford looking really good with ball in hand and running the show. Back three looking dangerous as well.

Dreamer, as tennis players go they are/were brilliant. As sex symbols I found Ivan Lendl more attractive

They can be judged at just tennis players, not sex symbols you know!
That said, all the things said about male rugby players in here mean absolutely no-one can complain either way

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Missed that robbo. Well taken try by Ford before h/t but missed the conversion. 13-10 to England and Ford has left 5 kickable points out there. H/t.
England enjoying good territory and possession, but France have defended well. Starmer-Smith is doing my head in; anyone would think he was French the way he's praising everything France do (not much to be fair), and describing England as 'workmanlike'. He's watching a different game to us The Kiwi commentator is much more accurate in describing the play.

Afternoon All
Have had a fab week so far, and just to make it more fab, my Heino Final DVD turned up today (it was released Monday and my mam bought it from Amazon for my birthday). I'm going to be plonked in front of the telly for ages with it (it's 2 discs!) and U2 at Glasto.

I was really impressed with Ford in the match against SA. Just a really accomplished player and at such a young age. Hope he develops well with England.
Ah man Watson just lost in three sets in the tennis, and she'd started so well. Boo

Ford is looking good. Have to go out now and am going to miss the rest of the match, but at 13-13 I'm going to tempt fate and say I'm looking forward to seeing Ford in the final against the Baby Blacks *touch wood*.
EDIT: Sorry!!!

Missed conv. Eng 13-18 Fra.
This will go to the wire. Very evenly matched sides.

Loving the subtly of the remarks huggie. I was almost man handled by an attractive oriental girl one evening. I told her i was spoken for but she wouldn't take no for answer for ages. Munsty claims i was leading her on and was asking for it which i will deny.
Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
If your comments bring that sort of luck, I'm glad you're clearing off.
France are edging us in forwards play, but are backs are putting the nicer moves together.
I'd like to see Jones come on for Everard and Kvesic go to openside.

England vs France in the JWC SF, Cari.
Oz vs BB's SF on after it.
Live on the JWC website.
TRY England! Ransom. Nice. England really opened them up.
conv by Ford. 20-18.

Staggy - did you see the picture of Wally in his lycra? He should've been arrested for going out cycling in it.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Jones on, but Kvesic off, wrong flank sub in my opinion.
I prefer Mills at IC. Farrell is undoubtedly a very talented player and he had a couple of tasty touches, particularly the grubber through for the try, but he very much looks like a FH playing centre. Center may have formerly been his position of choice, but I'm not sure I see him there in the future.

I dunno Kiwi mate. At this rate of progress, you'll be running the show.
Well done man. Cool-Hand Kiwi.
French really trying to push it here. They try ....wooooooooooo. O Connor just robbed on the touch-down.

Well, my degree result came out there about an hour ago. While I'm frustrated and disappointed with some of my marks I've gotten enough to graduate with a very solid degree and guarantee my progress onto the Masters next year
