First topic message reminder :

Welcome to the virtual rugby pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.

The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the Tommy Bowe photo on the bar. That's a banning offence

So pull up a chair....what'll it be? appletini

Me too. Such a great sound to open an album with.

Notch - that's why U2 changed direction in 1989 and came back with Achtung Baby because they knew they were becoming too stadium rock. And it's one of their best albums.

No. The Pet Shop Boys did a cover of Streets and mixed it with "Can't take My Eyes Off You" which bono loved. He's referencing that.

Achtung Baby, was their best album for me. They opened up to each other and checked their direction. Let the "Blues" in. Had no interest in them up to that. Having Brian Eno on board... does help.

Best thing about show jumping, three day eventing, polo etc. is the fillies. Went to a polo match last year on the Gower and they bussed in the finalists of Miss Swansea to 'mingle'.

Notch, I've said it before but Running to Standstill is probably my favourite U2 song. The song part that they did in Chicago was unreal. The only thing that put me off a bit was the thing they did at the end with the girl speaking. That's maybe a bit naughty to say. But that version of the song was unreal.

Yeah, a few times. Love Donegal. Love the beaches, love the place. Wouldn't know it that well. Have no head for names or locations.

My brother will be hoping this weather keeps up for sure. Sick of the LA sunshine for the last year.

Cari, I was going to gush about Stay too. I have the live version off itunes (I think). It also has a great version of Where The Streets too. Walk On PT 2 or something was the iTunes album name (just the two songs I think)

Anyway, a long winded way of saying the version is gorgeous and it's a lovely song too.
