The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
First topic message reminder :
Welcome to the virtual rugby pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the Tommy Bowe photo on the bar. That's a banning offence
So pull up a chair....what'll it be?
FYI, the last pub was :

My flight's not til half four. So I won't be doing much in the evening just heading to the pub quiz
Hughie - it was one of the reasons, but the Dubs aren't playing because they were drawn for next week. I'm going to do the tour of Croker though as they're still doing them this weekend.

Sounds good , keep an eye out for DPD.
Just spent the last half hour or so reading back all those jokes. Some really good one's but some not so really good one's as well .... Penfro!!
Missed the papers this morning. I don't know if I told you but my nephew recently represented Great Britain Under 12 roller hockey team that took part in the American Athletic Junior Olympics. There is a wee piece in the Ballymoney Times, if anyone is interested.

The June referred to is my sister.
Cari, I see you are Dublin bound tomorrow. Sorry I won't make the trip to see you. I hope you have a great time. Oh, and I can recommend the full Irish at chez Mickado. Make sure he includes the sausages though.

I was heading to see the Dubs not just any match. I would've gone to the hurling if the Dubs were playing it this weekend. I chose this weekend because the football team were most likely to get through which they did but the draw just didn't work out. I'll still enjoy my trip, and I will get to see the Dubs one day, just not this Sunday.

TBH I find it annoying as well.
I too think Cari should get a ticket and enjoy the experience. I believe that's the more recognised protocol

Jokes - a dyslexic man walks into a bra...
Other news....I read in the DT that it is the Welsh Eisteiddfod tomorrow. Given it's in Wrexham this year, I doubt many (if any) regs will be in attendance. But if you do go, enjoy. Culture should be part of all of us. I'm so glad that I invested in books about my local area when I moved here. OK it's not a national thing, but I like to have an appreciation of what makes a place what it is.

When I had the interview for Woolworths they asked if I had any planned holidays, I told them I had a 6 week holiday planned in New Zealand the following year and they still employed me and allowed me the time off.
How long did they last after giving you the job?

To be honest I expected the pedantry to relate to the date of the tour.
Anyway

Played 9 holes of golf this morning in the baking heat and was thoroughly greased up with sun cream. Played football for an hour this evening in the bucketing rain and got drenched. Gotta love this country.

Cari,
Go to the football. It's not just about going to see teams you support. It's the whole event. Croker is an amazing place to see the GAA. Just do it.

I'm in Dublin now. Five minutes off the bus and I ended up in a long conversation with a very, very drunk man lasting at least an hour. Definitely Dublin then.

Going to watch Glammy play today courtesy of the Bank. I am to cricket what the prawn sandwiches lot are to the Premiership or the pink cowboy hat brigade are to rugby (well internationals anyway). I feel dirty. I will be sad as I tuck in to the buffet and quaff the complementary wine. It'll have to be done though, no matter how difficult, I hate waste. It's odd, the more I owe them the more fuss the bank seem to make of me.
