The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
First topic message reminder :
Welcome to the virtual rugby pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the Tommy Bowe photo on the bar. That's a banning offence
So pull up a chair....what'll it be?

You'll get huge benefits from it in the winter Pete, it's definitely something more people should do!
Just sent off to my service manager to get approval for them to get funding for me to do a Welsh course in classes after work. It costs quite a lot this year but fingers crossed they give the go ahead, it seems to be the only thing that has any sort of funding available this year, and I'd rather do that then nothing.

wotcha,
Seeing Pembro's pics made me remember of a Council of herons that took place over a couple of days two springtimes ago;7 heron standing in a circle, each about 5 metres apart, all looking towards the centre. They were there in the afternoon, and a couple must have had a phone call cos the next morning there were only 5,who left in the afternoon.
OK, back to tent erecting, melon storing and beer drinking;my mate Terry arrives on foot from Bergerac this afternoon;taken him 5 days-must consider that option the next time I take the plane

Lucky, I think he's got 6 caps already, altho mostly as a sub? But you are right, it will be good to see him playing, fully recovered from his horrendous injuries.

Huxley pig!
I still catch myself singing:
"What are you going to do today Huxley Pig? groink, groink
Who are you going to be today Huxley Pig? groink, groink
A suitcase full of clothes,
everybody knows,
when you're in your Sunday Best,
Anything goes!"
Even as a 12 year old, I admired his 1920's style bohemianism and sense of sexual adventure. The cartoon never lived up to (or even reflected) the theme tune though.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Right this might make me sound a bit insane but do any of the Welsh folks in here remember a character from an S4C children's progamme who was called Madam Fflur? I only have a vague recolatcion of this but for some reason I see her as a dog with long fur, who lived in a caravan?
Ah man even writing that out looks crazy.
One of my favourite things from on S4C wasn't a programme, but a "presenter" on one of the kids shows - he was a bird, who wore a leather jacket and had his beak peirced. And all he used to say was "wwcuu" something like that anyway! (which again just sounds a bit crazy....)

Sorry, can't help you much dreamer, you're a fair bit younger than me.
I'm now being reintroduced to kids telly though via my nieces and nephews and of course Miss G, both Cyw and Cbeebies. I am partial to a bit of Gigglebits. "Hello I'm Arthur Sleep. In Yorkshire today all of the toilet seats have been stolen, Police say they have nothing to go on! Over now to our reporter Gail Force..." Horrible histories is also a very good program for older kids on CBBC.

Sounds decent enough, Hughie!
I remember we used to watch a programme in primary school called Ffenestri. It was an educational programme and it was okay from what I remember.
Okay, not a TV show, but what was that music show with Caryl Pari Jones? Sain a Chan or something.
EDIT: I just remembered - it was called Sioe Gerdd.

Afternoon. Obviously still jetlagged as I'm just up and didn't get too sleep till late last night. Wasting my leave really trying to get back into a sleeping pattern.
Just watching the NZ V SA game back.
I've had some great news today, that the International Rugby League double header doesn't clash with the Dragons v Blues game around my birthday. So delighted I can do both (work permitting on the Friday of course).

Cheers for the fixtures as well, need to plan what home Scarlet games I can get to carefully, depending on times, might need to get my lovely dad to come to the match with me/pick me up after.

I was going to go to Parc y Scarlets for the Dragons' visit, but I'm going down west for the Heineken in November anyway. I still haven't been to the Liberty or the CSS yet, so I'll try to get to those away games.
Rev, I presume there are buses that go to the away games, do you know any more about that?

Is it fair to say that Stag is being pretty controversial on the WC Semi Final thread? I think he's in one of his mischievous moods. I'm just finishing off reading that.
Lucky, I'd imagine there'll be a bus to most away games aye. I think a lot of people drove themselves to Llanelli last year though, so they could stay the night. That's what I did anyway.
It's handy that they are out properly now though. I need to sit down with my planning board and see what time off I need to book before I go away.
Zac Guldford's 1st try was sweet on the weekend wasn't it.
