The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub - Page 7 Empty The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub

Post by Guest Fri 05 Aug 2011, 11:58 am

First topic message reminder :

Welcome to the virtual rugby pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.

The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the Tommy Bowe photo on the bar. That's a banning offence

So pull up a chair....what'll it be?

To be a delayed kick-off at Murrayfield. Massive backlog of people trying to get into the stadium.

They are selling tickets on the day, and now they can't handle it. But surely the fact a large amount of people have turned up on the day shows how ridiculous the previous policy was?

I'm frustrated that they hold the kick-off for people who couldn't be bothered to turn up 15 minutes earlier.

Training was good. Nice run throughs. Good sweat and earned my Guinness now.

Enjoy.

Oh aye, if Stag got mod, this place would truly be on it's bum Wink

Good stuff Rev! This looks like deja vu all over again. Ireland looking to speed and conditioning going to the World Cup, Scotland focusing on strength and we send a weakened team to Murrayfield...

As Wood says, a lot of players have actually lost weight. We're going for pace. Time will tell if thats the right thing.

Good luck Wales, and come on Ireland!

Really, really frustrated at the penalties we've given so far; first Kearney then Trimble. We give those penalties away we're going to be defending all game.

Very impressed with Ireland so far. Leo Cullen is a fantastic player, great leader. Defence has been fantastic and the back 3 have looked good, particularly Kearney. Fitzgerald looks sharp too.

Ronan clap

The commentator keeps saying they'll run at Sexton and Wallace, but they haven't made all that much ground against them.

I think this has been a fantastic game. I'm delighted they're going back to the shed with nothing on the board.

It's more exciting than I'd expected to be honest, so that's good. I'm surprised Scotland haven't scored yet, they've had the most opportunities. I hope Walker's all right too.

I agree Notch. I really can't understand why people still question Wallace defence. Anyone that watches him regularly would know he's very solid. Sextons a big lad too.

Very good 1st half and we were much more cohesive than I thought.

Ha ha hear wood singling out Wallace defence??? What a joke! He's been brilliant!

He missed a tackle on Walker but apart from that he hasn't missed any tackles and has held up a number of players for that maul tackle Headscratch

I'm a bit confused by those comments.

Walker ran through a gap, Wallace didn't get bumped off once as Wood has suggested. The only two players to get bumped off in the 1st half were TOL and McFadden.

Wood does talk some complete garbage. He's so bias it's unreal. He's only employed by the bbc to make Jiffy and Gusgott look knowledgable and impartial (no easy task).

To be fair, Wallace wasn't bumped off in that half of rugby. He's been targeted... a few times, he's taken the hit lost a yard or two but brought his man down. That can only be what he means?

He said clearly that Wallace was being targetted and had been bumped off a few times, which is nonsence. Yes he's been targeted but his front on tackling has been superb.

England 13 - 7 Wales at h/t. England well up on territory and possession, but Wales have had their moments. Lots of handling errors by both sides. Highlight of the half was a great run out of nothing from Armitage, who was stopped about 8 yards from the line.
